We tried doing this before and I don't think that many people really got the point. I think the main thing to focus on is being open minded about these kind of things.
So, what I'm getting from the results is..."maybe, but sure as hell not as much as they profess to be"?
This. I noticed that more atheists are open minded as compared to non-atheists. Not to offend Christians and other religions based off of Christianity, but I tend to either see them being the extremely religious people that says "...because God made it so." to most questions, or some gangster wannabe, for some reason. O_o
If you guys don't know what open minded means, it means that you can accept new ideas and so on.
i forgot where i saw the research, but there was a study on the rate of atheism and the corresponding education level.
It was like, 10% for high school grads, 13% for bachelors, 17% for masters, then at like the phd level it jumped up to around 40%.
It makes sense though- the more you study, the more you realize how absolutely irrational religion is.
So it's not really, are atheists smarter. It's the smarter people become atheists.
Well put.
I figured out religion was a bunch of bullshit when I was like 9 years old in sunday school and we were watching an animated movie about noah's ark or whatever that shit was with 2 of every animal, and one about jesus turning a stick into a snake and all that stupid shit. Then I started asking kids around me "wait, is this supposed to be something that really happened?" and everyone was just like "uh i dont knoww". After that day I was done with religion, lulz. No brainwashing for me.
Then as I became older and could actually research the bible and all this nonsense it became even more apparent how stupid the whole thing is.
Holy shit I remember that cartoon/movie whatever.
It started with a women putting a basket with a baby into the Nile and then whatever and whatever, it
You can't say 'group A is smarter than group B'. That's just silly.
What I find most revealing in the op is that none of the groups even makes it to a grade nine level.>_>
I find is sad it that the highest on that chart is only 9th grade......
I was reading at the 11th grade lvl when I was in elementary school around 4th grade.
i dont understand how being a certain religion can measure ur intelligence
im catholic. when a test asks me how the universe got created, what will you think i answer? the answer that will get me a ****ing A+. which means choosing god at church class, and big bang in a physics class.
to choose an answer on a test of which you KNOW will count as wrong just so you can support your beliefs is pretty ****ing ******ed.
i can understand if that graph was based on science test scores, but its completely idiotic to believe that religion has anything to do with how well you can write...
Just because I have Faith in something sought out to be fake doesn't make me any less intelligent, just more gullible than others. (In the eyes of someone who is smart)
Oh, and I wanted to throw this in.
