Nobody is saying don't smoke. We're just asking that when you do, have some courtesy for those of us who don't. If you notice someone coming near you, blow it in the other direction. Thats really all I ask of people, and if I catch your vapors on accident, no big deal.
It IS a two way street. While smokers should lookout for people who don't smoke, non-smokers who are super sensitive to it should be on the lookout for it too. Its just like if you're allergic to bees, you're gonna be careful while you're walking through a field of flowers. If you're allergic to smoke, just keep a heads up for smokers. Its not so much to ask.
Most of the time its a minor annoyance if someone accidentally gets you with their smoke. You scowl and move on. Every once in a while I'm sure you'll get a dumbass who has to make a big deal about an accident...and thats unfortunate.
Edit: I'd like to mention that I live in NY, and there are anti-smoking laws for EVERYWHERE around here. No restaurants, not even bars. It changed some years back, but I can remember a time when everywhere was full of smoke. That is unfortunate for those of you in places without such laws.
