shadowsworn, I have Baldur's Gate 1 Tutu, which is essentially BG1 w/ BG2's game engine. So I can be all the awesome extra classes and stuff.
What should I be?
oh yeah I've been meaning to try that out. uh. I've heard kensai is really fun.
In fact right now I'm playing a kensai/thief in bg2 because I heard it was a good class (I want to finally beat the expansion with the Ascension mod)
you may want to just be a mage or sorceror though if you go good. I'm going evil.
also in vanilla bg1 anyway I once beat the game with my mage and Edwin constantly summoning monsters to distract the enemy while everyone else attacked. it was pretty easy, apart from the final fight in the expansion. (they wisely nerfed summons in bg2 for this reason I assume)
Yeah I'm a half-orc Kensai w/ longswords right now, but I may try out Wild Mage.
have you ever beaten bg1 before, btw?
Sure haven't.
Or even Baldur's Gate II.
I keep getting bored with the class I'm playing as.
I've been there. I must have started Dragon Age over at least five times before beating it.
Yeah, I still have Dragon Age: Ascension unopened. I really need to get around to that.
But Dragon Age doesn't have the same appeal as Baldur's Gate. In BG you get insanely powerful but then yr going up against insanely powerful enemies so it's fair while there's still a feeling of progression and challenge.
Dragon Age loses that since the game levels with you, and you can do it in any order.
Like, why play Ascension when I can play Mass Effect or Baldur's Gate, you know?
Dragon Age started off strong but it's kind of wasted potential.
damn, I meant to write Awakening.
Ascension is the name of the essential mod for Throne of Bhaal.
I meant to say Awakening, too. :{X
anyways,
I figure that playing as a good character can't possibly have as cool an ending as playing evil probably does. Good gods = boring. Evil gods = awesome
Yeah, but evil characters can't have Minsc. He leaves the party if yr reputation drops.
yeah but if yr dumb enough to let your rep drop THAT far you'll have guards swarming you anyway I bet. The only good character I've ever had issues with is Keldorn (paladins w/ Carsomyr are massively op and therefore desirable)
in the end I decided to cheat and install the Happy Party Mod.
Ah, yeah. That's good for a power-gaming perspective, but man seeing yr party members interact is a lot of fun.
Also, Carsomyr + Inquisitor kills everything in Baldur's Gate 2. And then in Throne of Bhaal Carsomyr becomes so stupidly overpowered.
hai guise wats goin on in here
Not much, just talking about

It's a fun series.
ok cool is it liek runescap? thats my fav game ever!!1! i lvled my mining up so hi that i got addy ore ever 2 secnds
I just wish I could have more than six party members!
So far my plan is Me (Kensai), then Minsc as my other frontliner, then Dyanheir, and then Branwen, and then Imoen. Sixth slot I'm thinking will be that ranger guy.
But in BG2 I want Minsc, Jan, Imoen, Ariel, Viconia, Keldorn, and SPOILER all on my team. That'd be so much fun since they're all great characters.
my party is usually me (whatever I choose, usually a swashbuckler or mage, in this case a kensai/thief), Imoen, Edwin, Minsc Keldorn, and Viconia.
