What's fun about this social website?
Nothing is fun about it. It serves as a place for me to relay information to my friends that I can't text them about (youtube videos, lolsy pictures, neat links, etc).
Other than that, I don't really bother with it *shrug*.
I use it to communicate with a few people I don't bother texting and stuff too...it reminds me of birthdays I would have otherwise forgotten.
waste of time, the creator is probably the luckiest person on earth to succeed with that :/
Yeah, and that creator actually became a millionaire through that and have a movie about him being produced.
I still wonder why people get addicted to facebook as if it's porn.
Because people are nosy, gossipy and easily amused. Facebook caters to all 3 of those things.
i just use it to get cash in my games that have facebook offers lol, like trickster
Its for people who want to socialize with other people, most likely friends/family.
It's quite good for those with friends.
im gonna agree with you on this one. i have constantly thought in my head "why are you even on here?" when viewing certain people's profiles. these include the ones with only like 30 friends, and people who post a status every 10 min that nobody ever replies to. it doesnt matter if you got a billion friends, its just sad if nobody ever actually "socializes" with you. oh, and im also sure the creator intended us to befriend strangers because it tells you "blah blah blah has joined facebook too! add him/her" but if you actually do it, ur lame.Quote:

I have it because there are some people I really want to keep in touch with and this keeps them all in one place. It's not like Twitter, which you have no real business using unless you're promoting something or you're a celebrity (Even still, dumb), which is why I like it.

Guys I signed up to Facebook (Late to the show, I know :P) but I can't confirm my email address it just keeps saying ''something went wrong'' anyone know how to fix it?
eh i dont use it, i've had people ask me if i have a facebook account though and everyone always tells me to make one, i just don't see the point.
i "use" twitter though, i dont tweet stuff but i use it to follow a lot of websites and people and podcasts ect.
I keep hearing about these "friends", how does one get these? are they hard to maintain?
In all honesty facebook/myspace just provide me with a way to contact or be contacted when an issue doesn't need immediate attention.

all these people saying "keep in touch with old friends", hell no thats not what i use facebook for. i use facebook to keep in touch with CURRENT friends. its a hell of alot easier to have 50 facebook conversations goin on than 50 phone/text conversations

Pretty much what others do, keep in touch with family and friends. People even go to facebook more than their emails.
I made a facebook account once, then I realized that I actually keep regularly in touch with all the people I like, so I don't really need it and thus deleted it. Anyone I don't keep in touch with is a person I don't like, so I certainly don't want some site to show me pictures of their annoying faces, messages about what they waste their lives on, or annoying invites to social gatherings composed of more people I don't like.
Secondly, I hate gossip, and whenever I hear someone talk about the personal life of a person they are generally not involved with, I get a strong urge to take the nearest blunt object and bludgeon them to death with it, so facebook wasn't really helping with my agression problems.
Thirdly, I have severe issues with any and all kinds of social drama - It's ******ed, it rarely has any productive value, and it often brings out similar urges to the one mentioned above, so anything that increases the chance of creating social drama in my life(I.E facebook, and any kind of internet networking sites) I cut out like a lump of cancer.
I am considering investing in a high-spec silenced sniper rifle though, firing tracking devices, so that I can keep track of all my associates via satellite surveillance.
This seems much more usefull in the long term.
So that people can have a life without leaving the comfort of their house.
But that doesn't satisfy me. Having a conversation with someone should be face to face, not via the Internet. Also, there are topics that shouldn't be discussed openly on such website.
