I don't like ''Space'' type of games ;S.
None of the games listed are really in-depth. More like open world with long-*** walking and a ton of quests.
Dwarf Fortress is as in-depth as you can get so far I think.
Oh and Wurm.
Heroes of Might and Magic III is good too. Not much in-depth but more strategical. Newb-friendly and can go very deep in strategy with your troops sometimes. Most troops also have some hidden abilities which are not mentioned in tooltips. Those are mostly affinities and etc. passive stuff.
I didn't even know about those passives playing this game all these years and when I found them out it really changed my game strategy overall.
There is a huge diversity how you approach the game when playing against a computer alone. With other players it just expands 3 times and more. Difficulty level, landscape, your race vs your enemy's, neutral mob strength, your hero and it's special ability and etc.
How I miss those weekly tournaments :(
A match used to go for 4 hours and more pretty often.
Great strategy game overall.
I once watched my the brother of my friend playing Might&Magic, but never tried it myself.
I'll try to get it.
Thanks.
Wurm can look pretty good (at least the environment. The models and animations...there are animations now, though, crappy as they may be...) if you have the computer to run it.
You might try Minecraft. It can become as in-depth as you make it. And it keeps getting more and more added to it.
I mean really, in what other game can you make a working CPU (even if it is primitive)?
You can also make complex rail systems. Castles, underground forts (the game plays surprisingly like Dwarf Fortress, actually...)
Wurm is very indepth but can get boring fast due to the repetitiveness of it.
Dragon Age is pretty indepth. Lots of character interactions and many quests to do. Story is not bad either and the graphics are great. The strategic gameplay is awesome and absorbing.
