I wish somone bring back Tabula Rasa :(. It only died because of the creator of the game quiet make it
oh one more... HELLGATE: LONDON ffs...
Hands down I'd bring back ASDF Hoverboard.
If I had to choose different; It'd be Earth & Beyond - but actually maintained and updated properly. The combat system was so much better then Eve Online; and look how successful they are. D;!
If I got super rich from that; and had the chance to bring back several other games; I'd bring back Shadowbane and Survival Project English Servers.
Then I'd buy a time machine and go back into the past where to Fairyland was super fun and tolerable. Actually would use that time machine again to the good ol' Monster and Me days. I'd then buy Monster&Me and make the PVP system actually understandable to the public.
M&M was the sole reason I found OnRPG in the first place over on the old forums.
Then if I got magic powers I'd bring Tenvi and TS Online to English. Teleport back to when O2Jam came out. Buy hosting rights to keep the servers up and free globally(I really don't think O2Jam will ever fully die).
Most games shut down shut down for a reason though. They wouldn't stand strong in the year 2011; and I couldn't imagine them getting a graphics update to fit in neither.
ASDF Hoverboarding I'd bring back for sure though.
Edit: Just want to say you can still play SP. It was never IP blocked, and TW had a fair amount of English speakers a year ago when I last played. True its not as fun though... Still pwn't in Soccer.. but ppl kept leaving, and you can't taunt them. :/
I tried, but couldn't ignor your comment =..=
Would you call games such as CSS, A.V.A a lacking game? I don't get why people think FEZ is a mmorpg, it is not, the only feature and the main purpose of FEZ is PvP in 50 vs. 50 battles, over lands and defend their kingdom. And comparing it to those fps/tps, FEZ also have some RTS elements into it and teamwork is much more important in FEZ as well; like Savage, just to me - free and better.
Hellgate London isn't dead, its new version Tokyo is coming >""< (plus u can probably play its offline version these whole time)
ferentus, Dragon Gem (in my opinion its thousand times better then maple..but the host failed)
ah and Yogurting!!! (at this yogurting guy...there is still a MY Version..or smth like that but yeah...i lost my main char on ***. too and i never understanded the shut down - community was not small and this game had an anime too.)
I still want to see a english version of Yogurting. Its just one of the best f2p's mmorpgs.
Survival Project. One of the best games ever.
Following is Hellgate: London.
Shadowbane with current/next gen technology and a bigger design team.
definitely Manato Esprit
the game never really had its chance to shine as the need for a good community to grow the game didn't work since the community failed
the game i would also want to be brought back would be hellgate london, even now it is definitely the best game to have shut down due to money. I even play the single player still for some fun when i get bored, definitely worth the $60 to buy, i even payed $150 for permanent subscription and when i got the notice it was given back (before they announced it was closing) i was in shock and knew the closure was inevitable
There was a game by Square Enix and hosted by GamesCampus. I remember playing the CB, and the game had one small error so they took it down, but CB2 never came. It took like 2 years later until they finally said that they cancelled the game.
I think it was called Concerto Gate
I really liked Tabula Rasa, it was an awesome game, i never understood exactly why it shut down.
It was shut down because of two things: the controversy concerning the games creator Richard Garriott, and his departure from NCSoft, as well as the fact that the game quickly lost subs due to its extreme lack of end-game content.
I would bring back Asheron's Call 2, not because I played and miss it, but because I never got to try it, and it intrigues me greatly. Same thing with UXO.
Shadowbane, seriously.. No ****ing doubt. I would bring Shadowbane back.
Wow this looks awesome! 2003? Looks more like 2007!
Wrong. FEZ lasted for over a year. I could list 30 MMOs off the top of my head that lasted shorter than that. IMO the game's fate was sealed when Square Enix dropped the U.S. port, and I am pleased that it managed to survive off of the playerbase for over a few months - let alone a year. I hear about my MMOs from reading these forums every day, since sites that list games require that the developers pay $100-$500 before listing them.
Oh god! If this became Runescape - then where is WellOfSoulScape? I remember Warpath being the first - I hesitate to say - "RPG" that I ever played. It was more of a top-down shooter from... Wow - I can't find the release date! Suffice to say that Warpath 2 came out in 1997.
