This was WoW from the start.
Yep and thats why i quit after reaching level 50 within a Month and collecting the same ****ing T1,T2 equip just to get ready for the next T3, T4 , T5 sets etc. Rift tried too hard not to be a WoW Clone but in the end it nothing more just with new Dungeon structures (where you think: Oh my gosh there's a challenge) and boring rifts...
On to the next game, i really hope Tera or Old Republic will go a different way. :-/
eh, seen it coming hell it already happened i don't even see why there nerfing them they were easy as shit from day 1 of people starting to hit 50, they were all to tank and spanky and required hardly any coordination except for a few fights which is why after clearing the first raid about 2 or so weeks after release i quit. the game was way to easy and expert dungeons didn't take experts to do them.
btw did they ever break macros for warriors? it was always fun doing the most dps in raids on my champ by spamming 2 buttons.
Or maybe just stick with WoW, till TERA or SW:ToR or GW 2 come out. :)
More reason why I quit.
Oh please. Rift was never challenging. Neither was WoW (with a few golden exceptions from Vanilla).
And this ladies and gentlemen, is why you never buy into the hype.
Enjoy your carebear WoW WotLK-like raids in your Rift.
As of right now, Cata raids are hard and they're only getting harder.
No. 4.1's "Rise of the Zandalari" was released and people are sticking around. 4.2 is also around the corner, with Firelands being released soon. And people are beating the pve content. It just requires you to pay more attention to what your doing. If you slack off, a simple mistake could cause a wipe.
People were complaining about WotLK being too easy. People could do the raids with their eyes closed, go AFK, etc, etc, and still do fine.
The complaints of raids during 4.0 started happening because people didn't know what to do. But still, even with the knowledge gained from experience, the fights are still challenging, like Nefarian in "Blackwing Descent".
I don't know why people are complaining about things like tokens and a LFG tool. They're qualities of life change, the reason WoW added them in the first place was because there was a need for them.
Gear drops in general were RNG, I remember waiting months to finish the last piece of some of my sets in MC/BWL just because we kept getting the same Warrior crap that all of our mains, alts, and even new recruits already had so we ended up disenchanting.
Some of you may like to think you're "hardcore" but economically speaking, RIFT's got a lot more to gain by catering to the casual gamer. WoW evolved for a good reason, I can't see any gaming company catering to 1% of their community and letting the rest to stumble around.
Edit: BTW, my friend just gave me his RIFT info to try out and I was wondering, do you guys have any recommendations on what Shard to play on? I'm thinking of rolling Guardians, either PvE or PvP. Looking for a casual but good PvE progression server.
I don't see how Dungeon Finder or any of that is bad. You people are just too butthurt.
I still can't believe people actually expect a difficult game to become the norm and become popular. The largest subscriptions and biggest budgets are always going to go go games that are convenient and appeal to a broad range of people. Folks need to get over it if they expect otherwise.
Rift was clearly being made to be in the same market as WoW, and yet people still act surprised or get mad when they follow the things that made WoW successful and appeal to it's audience....
Popular MMOs are all about simplicity, convenience, and being able to get rewarded without long play sessions. Rift is simply following this formula now. Dungeon finders speed up the process of grouping immensely, allow partial runs, and give more people access to doing dungeons that they might not otherwise have friends to try with. Its as simple as that.
I don't necessarily love it either, I miss some of the challenges but I also enjoy the fact that I no longer have to play for 12 hours a day just to be viable like I used to have to in Everquest. Its alot harder to time budget this stuff as you grow older and if games did not put in these features like they do nowadays, I probably would not be able to play many of them.
I love how Fools actually say its wow ... i never knew that Wow has rifts opening all around the continent and has random raids ... i never knew that WoW had such graphics ... or such storyline ... I never knew that WoW had such skill system or everything else like Rift does... Hmm Maybe its time to wake up ?
WoW ... Soo Rift has dungeon finder too ? as well as many OTHER f2p games does too ... so everything is WOW just because they have dungeon finders
I think dungeon finder is the best thing to be implemented in a mmo ... u don't need to go around and shout LFP ! LFP ! LFP ... or anything like that.
Oh, back in BT they weren't implemented, but it was in WotLK. The pug raids was always requesting for you to have an achievement, some let you go without achievements and some may not.
Now in Cata. there are rarely pugs, at least on my realm, because the hardness of the bosses have been increased and the healers and tanks play a big role again like in Vanilla.
Something funny and refreshing(memories.) :)
Lol I was the main tank for my guild, as well having my druid.
one of rules for new members
"don't ***** at Ririn if you wipe or die, cause 90% of the time is not his fault"
I took the time to know the raids we were gonna do, mob spawns, all that shit lol.
It's also why I slowly started to primarily play my druid xP I got sick of having to be the plan maker.
I also hate Rogues.
With SUCH A GOD DAMN PASSION
@Ouriel Ahh, i was pretty sure those dumb achievements weren't implemented...but I wasn't sure, cause my guild would've not given two shits xP
OT: I enjoyed rift during the friends of the ascended or w.e it was.
Granted i didn't get to try endgame, but i certainly enjoyed the random rifts, and the quests seem to give solid exp amounts, which is nice for a change.
WoW Was never hard
Rift is warhammer + wow
Cataclysm is easier then anything - vanilla took time..
Cata takes lives... or exploits.
The sad part about wows challenge it is all about your group if you have 5 failures you fail, nothing to do with the content.
Rift endgame is boring :|
I'm only lvl 49, but I actually like the dungeon finder tool, as getting to most dungeons is a drag and a half.
Not so sure about the end-game aspect, not there yet, I like the storylines in the game so far though. And it's why I quitt wow after 1-2 months ago, I got tru all of the new storylines, and got bored.
I used to 'hardcore' raid in Method on Sylvanas, and it was like I had a second job >_> Never again, I rather be called casual.
its nearly impossible to find a endgame dungeon group if you are a DPS.
At least on my server. people only looks for tank/healer.
the dungeons aren't really that interesting.
rare gear are not rare.
I got a level 50 Mage.
Its not exactly only random mobs spawning at random locations ... rifts are opening at random locations at which u can create raids to defeat those random as u called mobs with bosses ... and get rewards Its more warhammer like than Wow ...
Still wow will be the best and i care less what else say :D i just waiting for my pay to restart the friggin game :D
Glad I'm a cleric than.
And to Poeticas, yeah I'd say rift is a mixture of the right elements of War and WoW. My free month ran out, and I bought a gamecard for another month at least, I'm pretty sure I'll be having a break when witcher 2 comes out :p
Let's put it this way guys, no game atm holds ppl's interest much these days, least not for me. I play a game maybe 2-3 months max, then I get bored. At least Rift has some appeal, and it's better done than a lot of other games. It's certainly no so-called wow-killer, and I'm not even sure how long it'll last, for now it's a fun and polished game, let's leave it at that.
new content patch in a week.. but it will prob be boring ;s i beta tested it and it was easy mode *sigh*
I wish Terraria was released .. i need time kill until swtor.
People expected any diffrent? The devs themselves said they were taking a huge PvE / Raiding influence from WoW.
Its not a bad game but now nothing BIG sets it apart from WoW.
dungeon finder was needed. most servers had an extremely low lvl 50 population and getting dungeon groups was a pain, even in guilds.
tier 1 dungeons were really easy, but tier 2 dungeons pretty much required a group with no ******s. that's extremely hard to accomplish in the mmo world.
like they said, most groups would take a main healer and an off healer, leaving only 2 spots for a dps. thankfully i was mage and had chloromancer as a choice. i rolled mage to dps, but almost never played dps in a dungeon. mage and rogue were EXPECTED to go support heals.
