4. Balance/customization - Basically, there is no build customization aside from what weapon type you want to use. Currently, you MUST specialize in one weapon type, as it's common that weapon DPS practically doubles between certain skill totals. In addition, you MUST spend points on the ship/cockpit skill as you cannot raise any skill above the level of the ship/cockpit skill. Then you are left with a "choice" between wings or shields. Shields are entirely useless in the early levels, only really getting good later on and even then they are too heavy and slow you considerably. Wings however give you damage reduction and more hitpoints without hindering speed too much. It's a no-brainer, most everyone chooses wings. Weapon balance is pretty poor at the moment, some to the point of completely broken and useless.

I'm not even going to mention the lack of actual content in the game, after the tutorial and initial story quests, there's nothing to do but grind "kill 10 rats" quests. Supposedly they are adding new story quests soon, but I'm not going to bother sticking around.

But yes this is all possbiel :) I'm in the early stages of the game, so I don't know what is 'waiting' for me. But now I find it a good game, I sure hope it stays a good game! I don't mind that I don't have to pay, but i wouldn't have minded to pay a few euro's a month anyway.

Oh well lets just cross our fingers and hope they come with good stuff :D

What is EVE? :S Never heard of it.

Anyway a new gameplay video is out. Maybe people will like this one better, I am flying a Tarpun Warship. It's a very very big ship :eye:

It's nothing like EvE fyi. The only common thing they have is space ships, nothing more.

I can't tell you much about EVE, but it's really great game. I'm new to the game aswell(talking about EVE.)

But I will be sticking to BP for now :) I'll try EVE once for sure! I got a whole lifetime to try it still so I'll be sticking to BP for now :D

Eve is an awesome game if you don't want to actually do something.
With a name like Black Prophecy I honestly expected something better involving someone named Mandingo.

This game sucks balls.

Its instanced except for hub spaces.

Really lacks everything.

Space MMOs should NEVER use instanced space.

So anyone want to give me a buddy trial key on eve? I think its 21 days instead of 14 days..

Not really, EVE has undergone a serious of changes over the years that allow even newer players to have a place in the galaxy.

You could played since release, however that doesn't mean you will be able to kill everyone, because how you fit your ship and etc, it will give you a edge not a total victory for certain.
Me and another corp member 2 manned a guy, I only had 1 month worth of skills, and he only had about 3 weeks. The guy we killed was a 3 year vet.

You don't need all skills to level 5.

For example

Missiles rank 4 Gives a total of 15% damage, rank 5 gives 5%. Ofcourse getting to 5 would be neccessary because it allows me to use Tier 2 gear, but only for that type of missile, and for all i know there are regular missiles, assault, heavies, and etc.
It depends on what ship you want to use. But trying to skill to tier 2 in all of them would consume large amounts of time.
