What about that woman who has cervical cancer or that man who was diagnosed with testicular cancer? What if a gay man saves thousands of lives as a surgeon - should he not be allowed the same rights as others?

I'm with you on this(especially the latter). Though the main prospect of marriage is the social aspect and how embedded into society it is for marriage to be important as well as some legal things(Entitled to each other possessions in a split etc)

Some people are just racist, some people dislike the idea of non-Caucasians being equal. Some weird rant about men kissing men that seems really out of place and I can't make satire(or sense) out of. Regardless, some people are just old fashioned and don't want to see colored groups having equal rights.

Jokes aside, the point I'm making is that disliking or hating someone for something they can't change, and shouldn't have to, is wrong. Being uncomfortable is acceptable, as it's abnormal to the person, but allowing that to become anything more is not acceptable.

There is a difference between hating something and attempting to force your beliefs onto people and in turn denying them equality.

The real question is, should someone else's happiness be destroyed even though it doesn't affect other people?
