Are you going to tell me that the scene in the Titans, where the coach takes them to that place where the big civil war battle happened and he used that to motivate his team was creepy? No, it was inspiring. It brought honor to the dead, too.

And the reason I'm sad about where the USA is heading is how shit like this gets taken the way it is. It seems like everyone is some kind of wimpy "hipster" nowadays.


It's not like he took a bus full of 7th graders. It's not like he made them dig up the graves and sit inside them. He made them pick a grave stone, lay on the grave, and motivated them to be better, to realize their full potential.


It's disrespectful to no one, and the trouble around this is just showing how screwed society is becoming. We no longer try to motivate our kids to be better and to always try and better themselves. We teach them to do nothing they don't want to do, be lazy, and to sue/complain when someone does something good for you, just because you don't like it or feel comfortable doing it, even if it's your own mother (and especially if it's your father).



I feel like we're going to end up as floating fat baby-men in giant tanks, at this rate.

Last line was directed at the yahoo comments. My point before that was that, it could have been a whole host of factors into deciding why they lost their matches, it's obviously not just as simple as "you guys are not trying hard enough".

I'm sorry if I don't buy into this whole host of motivational bullshit. I looked up the scene in that movie, and obviously it was filmed in a much more eloquent way. If anyone tried to 'motivate' me with some bullshit stunt like this, I would not buy it. Not only in the delivery itself, but asking me to lie on some stranger's grave? Because God forbid, people lead lives they actually enjoy, right? Obviously teaching negativity such as laziness, apathy and ignorance is bad, but in a passive aggressive way, kids are being guided into shit they don't want. Yes obviously he had a point and we can see it. We don't know what the coach said exactly, but I think you summed his sentiments better than he did with his little stunt. We aren't criticising his intentions, just the way he's going about things.

It was weird, creepy but we all had fun in the end.
