On 2/27, the floodgates will open and Blacklight: Retribution will official be open for business. Characters and progress from the Closed Beta will be wiped, and all players will start fresh and new on the same footing. From the 27th and on, all progress will be kept, and the race to domination will begin!
The launch of the Open Beta will also be the kickoff for numerous events, as well as the addition of new content into the game. Three new maps, custom built Hero characters, and the Data Node system will all be available. More information about all of these will be available in the near future.
We want to send our thanks to all of our Closed Beta testers for helping shape Blacklight: Retribution into what it is today. Numerous changes, tweaks, and additions have been implemented based off tester feedback. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for all of you.
Open Beta, February 27th. Be there!

Damn shame PerfectWorld cash shopped the hell out of this game the same way they have all of their other games. Gives APB a run for its money in terms of how badly they want you to spend.

APB expensive? Yes Cash shop dependent? Hardly
Downloading this to give it a wizz, thing that pissed me off about PWE mmo's was the NPC after NPC offering some random *** token in exchange gives you some other piece you hand into some other NPC along the track, complete turn off imo and not only cause it reminds me of those horrid (And I mean truly horrid, would rather do knitting than play it) WoW pservers.
Gonna cross my fingers it runs smoothly too! F2P fps games are a ***** for Aussies, 200 constant ping woo :S

Well the reason why i HATE APB is the matchmaking. Still stupidly horrible design that havent been touched for months. I am lvl 65 and get match up with lvl 140s and 160s >.>
And i hate it when everytime you die, they said you could be earning this if you have premium...
OT: i am looking forward the game. Seems fun

Played four or five games. It's pretty fun, especially the mech suit. Feels epic when you're in one of those.
Not really sure wtf I'm doing besides killing people and getting mech suit. Which I guess was the point of the type of game I was playing. Are there others game modes?
It would be really epic if there was a BF3-size map with mech suits that flied or something. Would be great.
Not sure if it's really as cash shop dependent as people say it is/will be.

Maybe it's just me i dunno, but hitboxes seem way off.

Actually its not the hitboxes, its the way accuracy works in this game. Your first shot isnt allways straight and i watch as it always veers left just a bit... which causes you to miss... and the crappy net code doesnt help ether...

Blacklight Retribution kicks off OBT with new maps and tons of tweaks. Advanced settings are now added to the option menu. As for the gameplay, the required player number to start a match now reduce to 2 and there are bonus XP for various actions such as destroying mines, barricades, hardsuits and supplying other players with ammo. Several events have started and players can show their enthusiasm and skill in Leveling Contest, Video Contest and Raffle Giveaways.

That would be the first game while this is a new one of the same name. It's made by the same people but they worked with PWE to bring it on the PC as f2p.
With that said, it's an ok game. I'd rather have seen it be buy to play instead of putting down a buy price in total just for a few perm guns... Meh...
I've been rocking the top 3 and that might be the only real reason I'm still playing. Maybe once I unlock all the neat stuff like healer packs and whatnot, I'll like it more.

I've had no issues yet, myself.

The game had a rough launch. They found a memory leak in the servers which caused everyone to spike in Ping mid game causing lags. The random crashes, etc. All being addressed in the next patch that comes out tonight.
As for me, Iv been playing the game since CB1 and I really like it :) I recommend using Assault Rifle/SMGs until they roll out the Hit Detection fix.

Kickass game, i enjoy it so far. The controls need some time to get used to but other than that, really enjoyable
