Ah, looks like the issue was with my AMD HD Radeon card forcing anti-aliasing on the program. Telling the Vison center to let the application use its own settings worked. Black screen's gone.
Sadly, I won't get much time in to play tonight so I figure save the whole experience for tomorrow. At least it's working now though.

launch day isint over O_o its the 25th today unless u live in a different country i guess. also we are lucky they had early access. they could have said "ok cool lots of people pre purchased the game you can start playing the 28th"

Okay, so tell me: What's there to do in WoW when you have all achievements done, explored all the world, did every quest, have all the best gear, etc etc?
Run around orgrimmar/stormwind all day doing raids for no reason, then maybe doing some heroics if you're bored.

If you rush through the entire game trying to get everything done as fast as possible then yes, you run out of content. That's not arenanet/NC's fault.
