What on earth are you talking about...
You just made 3 posts acting like you're entitled to a beta invite because you did the exact same thing that half a million other people did. I don't see posts from those people crying about a beta test.
It has nothing to do with being a fan boy, you're just acting like a whiny little baby.
Yes, but I have a valid excuse!
You said you didn't even buy the game, so I fail to see why you are being such a little girl about it.
No, you complained about no getting a beta invite and how you felt entitled to one despite not pre ordering the game just because you did something millions of other people did.Quote:
On a side note, I never once said I was above the people who actually paid and played with me, nor did I say I was such a huge fan. Instead of assessing the situation, you all have to run head in with your angry faces because I wont act like they are perfect.
So how long is it going to sit at "checking updates"?
Or does that mean it won't work? I tried redownloading the thing but it doesn't seem to want to progress beyond that.
Going to avoid Guru and 4chan servers, trying to see where the chilean community is going but theyre not so organized. Might just roll up to the realm fellow onrpgers are going
So how do you people like it so far? I'm a little disappointed cause skills etc is delayed, but thats probably the lag.
Crappiest beta i have ever played alot of times i cant login when i can login i wil get kicked after 5 10 minutes getting low 30fps dropping to 7 fps when i am fighting i hope the next beta wint be crappy as this and not CPU bounded like this one
Well, from the feedback I've been seeing, it seems that this game has a 50/50 chance at not being released this year.
In PvP both WvWvW and the usual instanced I found I couldnt track if I was gettint XP or not. I was just max level so their was no XP bar.
I honestly see no way for you to level effectively by yourself. Everything kicks your *** lol.
And yeah they may want you to go to the different starting areas of the different races and do stuff there. That may be why everything scales. That way its always challenging and engaging. The Charr zone is quite fun, lots of ghost style things to kill.
So.... weird.
My girlfriend logged out and couldn't log back again, yet I could still play.
I logged out too, to see if its the server or her, and see there, I can't login back either.
But apparently people already logged in can continue playing, lol.
An official word on this from ANET would be great too, I hate that lack of communication.
Hope they extend the beta cause of all these issues.
I actually got 2 levels in one WvWvW play session(though it was quite long, but really exciting back and forth so the time just flew by).
You don't get a whole lot XP from the smaller battleground things, but that's not much of an issue since the games are so short most of the time.
My big concern is how you can't actually play with your friends, since you can't join queues as a party, and the "join friend in pvp" option doesn't work.
Hopefully they can get that fixed before beta is over, since I'd like to try some stuff in a smaller scaled pvp setting with buddies.
My beta impression is......8/10. Once everything is ready for release, I can easily see a 9 or 10/10
Honestly, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed a MMO as much as I am enjoying GW2. However, I very much see it being a game that does not appeal to everyone much like how GW1 did not appeal to everyone.
I do feel it could use some balance tweaks, at least on some of the bosses. I've done all 3 starter zones and the only who has not 1 shotted me every time is the norn starting zone boss, but that's because I was a guardian and I noticed the tell for when he one shots you, and I used that 3rd mace skill to block the damage. I have seen no such tell on the other two bosses.
I also feel exp gain could use a bit of a tweak.
So, just decided to try out Guardian in PVP just so I could see what great sword it was like with all skills available. Now, I have been playing ranger this whole time, so I had no experience in PVE for melee, let alone PVP. So, glanced at the skills, half assedly picked some skills. Hit the PVP button
When I first entered, I was like

I think I shall be maining great sword Guardian on release, the combo is just ******ed good. I also adore the offensive elite, have not try the defensive.
So I tried thief in small PvP. Damn does he do a lot of damage. But im unsure of his potential in PvE and WvWvW. Resource system is interesting though.
also tried PvP a bit today.
Mesmer with 2 One-Handed Swords are so much fun, but had a few problems killing some professions.
The game is fun for sure, but the lag really kills it.
We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out when it goes live.
Oddly enough the only lag I get is when a event boss gets epicly zerg rushed
Also, I take back what I said about great sword. Sword + Shield is my favorite now, it lacks the AoE, but makes up for it by being extremely sticky and providing ridiculous survival in PVP.
Also, I'm starting to think Tome of Courage may need a nerf. I was able to out last 5 people throwing everything they had at me while my 2 team mates took them out.
I wish the mesmers had more options for masks...or at least better designs for the ones that are available...
Other than that, game looks great and has fluid controls; PvP is extremely fun, although it's usually just a lot of ganking on one side of the map, but still enjoyable :)
