Heat online
I read your review of Heat online HEAT Online And I have to wonder just what game the reviewer was actually playing LOL
Figured I had better bring folks up to date, that review looks like it was for the old Project Torque, which this is not. Same publisher, same game frame, but Heat is 4 builds past PT.
Heat is a free MMO racing game. You compete against up to 7 other players; that is 8 to a room, in various modes. This game is meant to be a fun, yet serious racing game, so it can be as fun or serious as you like.
Right now the modes are VS, TA; thunder ally for you NASCAR fans, CTF; capture the flag {single and team}, Drift, and sumo; yes pushing other cars off a platform. Not a big fan of sumo. I'm pushing hard to get explorer back in the game; think mario cart with realistic cars, a lot more fun then you might think. If you like screaming panic driving, explorer is for you LOL .
Heat has all the old game cars from PT. Like most all racing games you have your various class/level cars. And we are soon to start getting licensed casr; far more then PT ever had. You start with your class 1 car; of coarse. You have your choice of 3 FWD; I'm pushing to get the K660 RWD added to those choices, a Suzuki cappuccino like car. The Lion is good for long tracks with out a lot of turns, the Wizz is good for short tracks with a lot of turns, the Corus is your alarounder. The K660 can be a class 1 drift car ;)
There is a huge selection of tracks, all the old PT tracks plus about 3X more. Tracks range from Le Mans style tracks to country black tops with gravel roads, as well as off road.
The latest update to the game introed a new concept in racing games. Arcade or sim physics is not a mode it is a car set up. Yes, physics chips were added to the game so you can set your car's handling physics to suit yourself. It can be as arcade or as sim as you like; yes, right on the chips it says you are sacrificing performance for stability, so sim drivers do have the edge. This was a boon for me, I hate that arcade wont let me drive the way I want, but just don't quite have the skill for complete sim. So for me having the physics as a mode select was a lose/lose situation.
If you haven't played heat in a couple of months it has changed quite a bit and for the good. Come on in and check it out, it's free :D
Please note, this game does require a descent comp and graphics card, it wont play on a wally world craptop web browser. Sorry, we had a rash of complaints about the game not working on these around Xmas. Why does no one read the prerecs for a game?
Yes I am free to answer questions, and argue if you insist. LOL
