Which one is better for Gaming? Gt 540m or the ATI 5730? And overall?

The HD5730 is slightly better than the GT540m, so slight, that it's basically insignificant and unimportant. It basically depends on whether you prefer better texture rendering (which the HD5730 should be better at) or particle rendering (which the 540m should be better at).

Anyway You can't go wrong with Nvidia...Just ment more for gaming than HD series...

Ya, the reason is so NVidia can get a bigger market, meaning more profit for them.

In all honesty, both AMD/ATI and NVidia are basically on equal footing right now (although you can say that AMD/ATI cards are a little better priced than NVidia cards at the moment with the exception of maybe the GTX460). It just boils down to the technicalities of what the card can do. As stated earlier, between the current generation of consumer desktop GPUs, the AMD/ATI Radeon HD5000/6000 series is better at texture rendering, while NVidia's 400/500 series is better at particle calculations. The choice is yours.
