I have an HP Envy 14 with switchable graphics and my laptop will get really hot as well :p Like you, I use this lil'guy for all my gaming and he holds up well.
Now that I think about it though, I'd like to get a cooling pad as well :) I'm thinking the best way to get one would be at Amazon and just go off of reviews. If I do end up purchasing one that's probably what I'll do.
I always use the Intel chip when I'm not gaming which helps with the heat from every day use. Used to leave it on the ATI chip, but that got hot after awhile just from normal computing :(
