Wow..............
looking forward to exploring the entire world in one single game.
After watching the video, I will see one major problem... the "megaserver". NO matter what, all servers will have a capacity limit. This server shall be no different. And with the idea they have, I expect the "megaserver" to lag horribly when its at peak times.
However, when problems are resolved I think I might be investing in this game. From what I have seen and read, this PvP model seems like the way I think it should be (especially for epic territory battles).
That kind of very much reminds me of RIFT actually. At least the visuals do.
Anyways, while there were a few things I liked here and there....
I think I will pass...
My only hope is that they don't try to limit their gear down to what they had in the previous titles. I know it's meant to be close to those, but i would like a much wider variety of gear, not just different enchants and whatnot.
I'ts not really one server its a bunch of servers all acting together as one. They said previously that they will add various amounts of phasing to separate and offset the load even further along with their idea of a play-style checklist where you are only put together with people who share a similar gaming style. It shouldn't really cause much lag heck eve online uses the same thing just to a lesser extent.
This looks awesome. Love elder scrolls! So I assume no classes and you build how you want it?
yes they have classes but its kinda like how oblivion and morrowind had classes its just a base in which you can build on but in the end its your character its up to you how you make and play it.
That combat looks so awful, I hope they add other activities to do because holy shit thats bad.
I'll keep my eye on this. If they have a PvP system similar to DAOC then I'll play it.
So far it's looking better than I first expected when it was announced. I remain weary of what it will become, but if they keep going down the road they have chosen, we may just have a great game on our hands.
turning out great, thought it would be tab target lol but i guess its not which is great the combat is fine, medium speed not slow like tera or fast like c9 good!
i just hope no CS OP or not alot of gears to choose from, maybe make gearing like gw2 would be the best.
I hated GW2 more than I hate generic click mmos considering they butchered and ruined it so hard compared to the first. And I played both the original elder scrolls game and arena as well as Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim but this is just a huge middle finger to long time fans of the game. Say what you will but this game is looking worse and worse by the moment.
it definitely looks a lot better after those original teasers they were showing
I heard instead of the first person swinging combat its buttons WAHOO I LIKE SKYRIM FOR IT'S point and click press buttons combat... oh wait...
Mortal online will forever be my Oblivion online 10$ it wont be as great as skyrim/morrowind/oblivion because combat will be like guildwars (why would i p2p for GW2?) or everquest clone
The one reason I didn't like the elder scrolls series was the control scheme. This is just going to be another awesome game that I want to play but can't because of the control scheme that confounds my fingers, like Vindictus and Dragon Nest.
If this is the direction all MMO's are going to start going, I'm just going to have to quit gaming altogether. -_-
Dis bahws.
"...this is an Elder Scrolls combat system. Moving your mouse will make you look around and aim your weapon. You can tap your left click to attack, hold it to power. Hold your right click to block..."
Sounds pretty close to Vindictus and Elder Scrolls, to me. I just don't like moving the mouse to look around because it can get twitchy and your right hand is constantly moving in circles. It may seem old fashioned or bland to you, but I enjoy my 'hold right mouse button to look around' type of game.
Can't say I'm impressed, and I thoroughly enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim.
I think you guys are missing the real problem with the Elder Scrolls combat setup:
WHEN YOU FIRST GO TO ATTACK SOMETHING AND YOUR WEAPON ISN'T DRAWN YOU SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY GO TO UNARMED COMBAT AND INSTEAD HAVE A SEPARATE BUTTON FOR DRAWING A WEAPON!
That is the one thing that pissed me off the most about Oblivion and Skyrim. If I wanted to punch something, I had to go into my menu and remove the weapon first, and then re-equip the weapon all over again the moment I want to change back. Whoever thought that was a good design idea should be next in line to be publicly lynched, right after Bethesda's QA team that consistently fails to fix glaring bugs in each of their games. >:(

A lot of folks on the forum know TB, but here's Jesse giving is thoughts on the alpha version of TES:Online, which is pretty informative.
He's mostly kind of not biased, but he loves Skyrim, so take it with a grain of salt.
