I think there are groups that control more than they should. But I'm pretty sure we wouldn't know about them.
So no, I don't think the Illuminati are real. Or at least, no longer exist.

Yes, it's obvious that there are several Illuminati. There might be a 'real' Illuminati, but no where near the capacity that conspiracy theorist like to believe. And there are probably dozens upon dozens of 'knock-off' groups that call themselves Illuminati.
The world is filled with "secret" groups.
Yes, I believe the Illuminati exist, and are at the top and lead other secret societies as well.

yeah there was a historical Illuminati, but the op was obviously referring to the modern notion of there being an organized secret group of rich people who control everything behind the scenes and whose names no one knows. like in the deus ex games.
I don't think rich people need a secret organization to control the world and oppress everyone else. they're doing just fine as it is.
