Most games that had decent player versus player are dead, or a bit outdated.
What you could do is wait until the next slew of MMORPG's turn up in 2007, I hear Warhammer Online is supposed to have the best player versus player combat since Dark Age of Camelot.
If you have patience, I would just wait, but if you must, Dark Age of Camelot and Shadowbane would have to be my top picks.
Yeah, I hear Shadow bane is free now so I'm thinking about diging into that because WoW I need to do a 50-60 grind which im dreading, then GW is just kinda boring me, and I need some fast action get in the game pvp stuff, Ruin Online is suppost to be PVP-coolness but its in beta right now and I wanna wait alittle bit for that to get up and going smoother and what not.
...wow beats guildwars by far. Same concepts, except you can actually move when you fight, along with more skills and stratgies, and larger scale battles.Quote:

I agree with Phoix. Dark Age Of Camelot is the best for pvp.

Wow has that issue of fighting in the certain areas that can take a long time to get intgo 20 minutes to an hour some times. DAOC you get warped to the area automaticly or every 5 minutes (not sure if they changed it)
DAOC I must agree has the best pvp which is really rvr. I loved it.
WoW can be good I didn't like GW either.... if your not looking for RPG pvp but sitll want it on a massive scale.....
www.planetside.com its basically a massive halo online with big bases etc you should check it out theres a free trial.
www.s2games.com -savage its freeware now its an RTS and an FPS. You have one commander and some worker units and everyone else is a real player as a unit. Players can build/mine/level up(doesn't make a world of difference just more hp etc). You build upgrades aka weapons/etc for your units(players to use) you may like it since its free you got nothing to lose but time.
THe best part about both of these is they are FPS not level,equipment,class based.

I consider Rakion good for PvP if you don't mind the hackers and laggers...

Definately Savage. you fight others.
Rakion is 90% pvp, and 10% quest.
Gunz is pure PvP , if you can stand the torrenting.
