Interesting... starting with EU.
Sure, i could try it out, now only comes the long waiting part.
USA USA USA! errrr....I mean EU! EU! EU!
Are they keeping that bullcrap mechanic they call K-style in this? Completely ruined the first game for me.
"I would hardly call it unique when if you didn't do K-Style you couldn't do shit in game. All weapons became null and void in favor of this ******ed keyboard spamming."
This guy, has 0 idea what he's talking about.
Not unique? There are very few games that required the reactionary skills and finger dexterity that Gunz demanded to be great at it. And you say not unique, but it all came about because of an aspect that wasn't even intended to be a feature in the game (animation cancelling).
Every game is going to require some type of skill. Gunz required a unique type, and if Gunz 2 deviates, it -will- fail, or spend it's life in mediocrity. Gunz did no such thing. It was insanely popular, everyone knew what it was, then it got under bad ownership and died to hackers/p2win.
The only reason you would smash it as a negative glitch is because you feel that the only way to combat k-style is with k-style. Quite frankly k-style has no response to a distance run and gun situation. If you can't hit someone with a god damn sword then k-style only gives superior maneuvering. What you do with a gun is what matters in Gunz, if it is perfectly aimed then who gives a **** if you are a user or not.
HOWEVER, aside from all that bullshit, what gets me the most is the idea that they failed to meet the demands of the player base when they chose to work with this GLITCH. I'm sorry that is so ****ing wrong, the player base is not just the US or EU regions because quite frankly the game was much more popular is foreign areas such as Korea and Japan. It may have been controversial to exploit animations to pursue k-style but the majority of players, those that actually gave it some god damn effort, will agree it was a large and important part of the game.
It had a decent player base in it's prime which is all I can say about the US and JGunz server since I played on both of them, and if anything the majority of players hated spray and pray nazis.
K-Style did set the game apart, it made it a joke to your average gamer.
If it's gone I'll gladly play the sequel, but if it's still there no thanks. (And yes I did know how to k-style and could do it fine, it was just stupid pure and simple)
Welp, K-Style was more preferable to the people who don't like to sit in 1 spot and mash their rotation of skills instead :3
So... Gunz 2 isn't shotgun/sword anymore... i mean K-styling wasn't that hard in the first so I'm glad it is out, it just produced things like
Instant knock down = Fun for everyone you hit the floor no matter how many times you slam space
Due to horrible net coding "it would say hit" when you didn't hit, any gun that wasn't something like a shotgun or got good of guessing which way they're going to deal with anyone with a +150 ping without aiming ahead. (you would find people switching using revolvers but this required more accuracy and guessing where your opponent was going due to this horrible net code
So as long as insta knockdown and horrible net coding is gone I would play
There are ways to counter K-stylers. I perfered using a dagger and i kept my distance. Dagger sprinting got me away from a lot of K-stylers and i just range them to death. When i'm feeling fun, i play with dagger and 2 rocket launchers. Usually murders most typical K-stylers. For the real pros, you have to whip out actual dagger techniques and switch to shotguns and maxwell rifles. However, if a pro does a stupid move and gets into a position where i can pin him to the wall and dagger him to death. then /gg :)
What kill the game is annoying attack and defense only rooms. and poor hit detection with those who are over 60 ping.
Kstyle was utter garbage. The game let you use macros as well for half of the melee two-steps. I'm glad they already announced they got rid of that shit.
back then i cant remember there being a different hitbox for feet while using melee defence stance, bullet deflection worked overall..... and you think other styles didnt run/jump around to avoid fire? you really think theyd be static pose targets for you? The reason why it became hated is because it was bug abuse and back then the hoster didnt have the right to fix the crap (all they could do was email the developer and hope for a patch, one that never came i might add....)
besides.... i did and always have been refering to gunz in its open beta stage that lasted for several years not how it has been after k-style became the way of living, not to even mention the bug handling in other games
(and why? its because its the time when about 1/3rd of the community quit the game because of this crap)
"opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one" - Larry Flint
anyhoo its my opinion and alot of people did hate gunz for that reason alone (but i do agree with the hacker part.... but it wasnt completely unbareable at that time) and i dont care about your passion, you expressed your opinion so leave it at that.
sidenote: they were saying during the conception of gunz 2 that the same bug in gunz will be a feature in gunz 2, but they removed that at some point in the development process and im guessing its because alot of the fans wouldnt even touch the game if it was.
