^ not really sounding crazy tis how i feel ben said it best Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. i think its wrong the us is spying on people suspected terrorist or not who judges that people are terrorists some guy sitting behind a computer no judge nor search warrant totally wrong
I find it shameful that he's being treated like a criminal instead of a hero.Quote:
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DarkAztaroth again.
Being mad at this dude is like being mad at a journalist who's reporting that something bad is happening.
I believe that Snowden had the mindset of doing the right thing, but he executed it in the worst way. He could have brought this to the world's attention without becoming a hunted criminal in the process. Right path, wrong steps.
There's no going back now.
My feelings are pretty much like what DarkAztaroth said.
Snowden is a hero.
"Threats" are not a valid excuse to balantly attack the sovereignity of nations as a principle. Better even, if it comes with a history of made up threats. The Us is at war with all humanity. The US is at war with freedom.
It is so for made up reasons and it is driven by a hysteric public.
I am surprised that there is someone that I would ever call a hero without a bad aftertaste, because of what the word means in a world where honour means shedding blood to many.
This guy however, in my point of view is a hero.
(edit:
Not even talking about the justice free policestate thing, which is just the same thing, "at home")
I think hes a hero personally, what really ****ing annoys me though is the way the media is trying to spin it and the sad thing is how well its working, they've pretty much taken all attention off the leaks and put all the focus on him being a traitor and it seems to be working, the general population isn't talking about being watched and monitored but instead they're talking about how evil of a person he is for betraying his country and putting everyone's lives in "danger"
I really hope he finds a country that grants him Asylum and he lives a decent life and dies old, we shall see though.
I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. America shouldn't need to be spied on for security, but at the same time there are so many idiots that SOME people should be watched.
Snowden was doing the American people a service by letting them know that their rights were being violated. He shouldn't have to run and hide, but you can't piss someone off and then sit in their lap.
Ambivalent, but every time something like this happens, the US does something sloppy and makes us look so stupid and unorganized. Just like what happened with Assange years ago, but now:
CIA/FBI agents in Iceland getting caught
Hacking is declaration of war but then we get caught doing it.
USA pissing everyone off for spying on them
This guy leaked the files (three months i think) after leaving and our intelligence didn't even know UNTIL HE TOLD US. I thought spying was supposed to prevent shit like this?
I'm American-born. I feel what Snowden did is an issue of morality and what he did consists of good and bad. It just depends what side you're on. With that said, on a bigger perspective, the US has always been run by bad people. We've done a lot of bad, including taking this North American land before it was ours and acting like the world police. Survival of the fittest. It keeps my family and I safe. If the US isn't taking this position, someone else will.
Wow nice responses. Going to have to give these a closer look when (if) I get off work tonight. Mmm all night Elsword marathon + review writing after 3 hours overtime ftw.
The internet is like heaven on fire in my opinion. It's fun to use but it can bite you in the butt. But yeah the government has been doing this forever. And hm I rather they watch what I do than to completely block off most of the internet in whole as they do in other countries.
This is like that big phone tapping fiasco that went on forever.
And this guy pretty much told the world what a lot of us already sorta knew. Nothing on the internet is private. You take a picture of yourself and put it on the internet no matter the subject and it will be seen. Maybe even by people you don't want seeing it. Like all those nekkid celeb pics.
