How does that work? I've played games that purport something similar but it turns out to be a handful of select, elite players.

Well, literally, the devs come on and ask what players would like. straight up in chat, the lead developer Chris The Avatar will come on and take feedback for a few hours every night from all players.
I've only played a few weeks and they already put in a feature I suggested about auto-running :). Right now they're putting in a new questing system that a brand-new player suggested! - check out the Updates section and see the thanks to players who suggested changes. They don't really advertise that they are about feedback, it is just what they do.

Hopefully there aren't any suggestions the devs do that conflict other suggestions. Wait, I don't know Ultima Online hahaha...I'll look it up. >.<

It is not so much changes that need to be made (as the game is really well balanced), but more features and additions. The players, thus far, have shaped the features list pretty directly.

Looked interesting, sadly, you lost me at Open world PvP. I liked the idea of a pure crafting class too :(

I loved playing this game. I played an archer for a quite a while and got to the 30-50 range. Can't quite remember. Was quite fun, though, and I enjoyed the community at the time.
Here's a screenshot. I can't find the rest I took, unfortunately.
