why does the shameless promotion section even exist

it's just full of garbage not good enough to be posted in the other forums, and also porn spam. no one actually reads it i'm pretty sure. *

i guess it's a relic of a time when there had to be stricter rules about this sort of thing, but these days when people do something neat, they usually just find a smart and tasteful way to self-promote it in one of the active forums.

People are nuts.

To be honest I just use it so I can move threads made by post count 1 users promoting their youtube channel or gaming blog or whatever. If people want to promote their website they should be welcome to do so and that's the appropriate forum. Yes, probably no one reads it, but that's how it is, people aren't interested in shameless promotion, still, that's where stuff like that belongs.

I'll occasionally check it out but it's mostly a bunch of junk by people just here to spam.
