On top of the server issues it appears the game has machine translations going on, which really uh....spit son the whole 'hand crafted/fixed for the west" thing.

Well that's early access. Don't know about the combat though. I never try to judge about that through another view. They just went down for emergency maintenance. Then I'm fine with either, action or tab. I played ffxiv and bdo.
Well that sort of thing doesn't really need to wait for the player beta to happen is the thing. Maybe some accidental typos and stuff sure, those can sneak past an editor//Q&A team but just shitty machine translations is always a big red flag that the effort was low in regards to localization.
Well that should be the expectation of any early access game. I've seen more barebone early access game on steam before. Hell 7 days to die, when I played initially were blocks graphics with tons of bugs. They are expecting to release an unfinished localization product for early access. That's why it's early access.
The voice acting are decent, but when they are inside buildings sounds weird because they some reason have echo. The combat is slightly awkward but it's workable. My initial impression of this game is it's decent, but it is riddle with problems from server overload.
Remember the full finished localization for the game isn't released till 6 months later.
Right, but the 7DtD team is a proper indie team that fits what EA was supposed to be but as time has gone on EA has become a range from teams like 7DtD who know what to do just lack the initial time and funds to go about traditionally, to stupid obvious cash grabs, and to lazy shit claiming to be earnest attempts that are just cash grabs.
Maybe there's some weird cultural gap that they don't get or understand that google can't really do a translator's job in full but I just can't believe a team as experienced and the size of Bless' would be that lacking in basic publishing knowledge.
Maybe I'm wrong, we'll see. But my skeptical optimism has been turned around pretty hard these last three or so weeks.
Well some good news, last night I finally got to the first dungeon and played smoothly for over 3 hours. Without as much lag the game core is not bad. I finally got a glimpse of how combat works in dungeon. First good thing about it is there is a dungeon finder but it's not cross server. They will need to fix this later. The second is as a tank at level 13 you only have 1 aggro skill... Basically killed stuff so fast that it didn't matter. Low level dungeons have no caps, only the end game dungeons do. The dungeon uses a bidding system for gears and roll for the highest. Next the combat essentially is tab target but at least it does not lock your character in place to use certain skills. It's still weird because you have to lift you hand up to use R,T, and Y to cycle through skills. I would suggest either macro these keys or bind them to something else. A weird bug I encounter is sometimes the skill will not make the character follow the enemy when they move. So you have to chase them a bit and reuse the skill.
Everything else become slightly better after the tutorial area which I am still sort of in even now. Have to see what endgame tanking and dungeon is like and how pvp works for guardian's.
Everyone in my guild that bought this game refunded.
The disabling of the pseudo action controls killed it for most of them. Few people played JP and hyped that up as THE way to play. Shame.
It's problems here and there. Mostly minor things like "5Level" thing. The major problem people have is expectation. They expected the game would be a "finished" state. But they never said that and had slapped the early access on it. They didn't think this is a soft launch and instead thought it was a finished product. Outside of that there are bunch or minor problems. That leads to frustration and cause people to rage. The voicing is not 100% perfect. Don't know if they'll change it and if they survive for 6 month. That was the approx. time they said they'll be ready with minimum bugs. The good thing is there is no wipe unlike most alpha or beta. Any changes they make you keep the progress as they change or so they say.
So, there are a few things that I noticed that are making people refund this game, run as far as they can, and never look back:
The optimization and having to go through the .INI files to increased fps, camera zoom-out increase, etc. At level 45, there is absolutely no content. There are no battlegrounds, no arenas, PVP ranking system with its rewards does not exist, skill point acquisition is broken. Basel Canyon the main PVP map is 100% empty with no mobs, no royal quest, no honor quest, no daily dungeons. The two "end game" dungeons that we currently have drop the same gear score. USING THE DUNGEON FINDER DOES NOT TELEPORT YOU TO THE DUNGEON. IT ACTUALLY COST LUMINA TO TELEPORT TO YOUR TEAMMATES.
And then there were the server launch issues. There are people who managed to get into a populated server but their friends cannot play with them because of the over population, forcing a complete server, character, and faction lockout.
Lumina is not account wide. Neowiz said that this is a glitch that they are looking into because the Lumina is supposed to be account wide.
These issues are more than enough for people to just drop the game and get refunded.
HOWEVER, speculation is that the reason there is lack of content at 45 is because of the early release. It is also speculated that today, after the launch happens, everything that was missing will be implemented into the game. This is made to stop early release players to go crazy with their potentially overpowered gear because they had 48 hours to do whatever they wanted, and can cause havoc to the other factions that are leveling fresh after the early release. But we'll see how it goes.
A major problem came to light. People are duping items and made tons of gold because of it.
A fun bug last night happened. A quest where you summon demon and have to kill it upon summon. The problem is the summon dies on its own after standing there for about a minute. After the summon dies it does not update as the summoned demon as killed. So the quest will become stuck until you kill a demon. I stood there and waited for a guy to come and summon a demon. As soon as he summoned his demon I killed it. This cause the guy quest to become stuck on the quest completion. The guy stood there and was like wtf happened. He waited for the next guy to come and summon his quest demon and killed his demon almost instantly. I created a chain of bugged quest.
Also encounter a quest mob that spoked in Korean last night. So maybe fixes will come today.
this sums it up quite nicely:

I wouldn't trust lazy peon for anything. He said bad things about BDO then went back and said oh he's wrong after bunch of youtuber did damage to them.
Below explains everything.

"Greetings!
This is Sungjin Ko, Executive Producer.
The entire Bless Team and I would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the Founders for your support shown since our Advanced Access on May 28th.I would like to address the connection, login, and server crash issues from the large influx of players that some of you have been experiencing. First of all, we would like to sincerely apologize to everyone who participated our Head Start as Founders for the recent issues which resulted in long waits and many inconveniences.
The entire development team is committed to identifying and addressing the causes of current performance issues and we are doing our best to solve them as our TOP PRIORITY.
What we have been doing:
•We prepared three NA servers and two EU servers for our Advanced Access, but the number of players increased very rapidly and all three NA servers were maxed out in the first three hours of AA. While this was happening, it was difficult for us to add more servers as quickly as you expected and it led to the waiting queue. Now we have expanded to six NA servers and four EU servers.
•There was also a recurring client crash caused by using Player Duels in-game. We identified the cause and resolved it.
•The issue with the launcher loading stopping at 40% or being delayed is now fixed.
What about the many issues remaining? Here is what will be fixed with the (V1.0.0.3) update which is being applied today, May 30th.
•The issue with getting stuck on the “BLESS” loading screen issues has now been fixed. Authentication failure was identified as the issue between STEAM and BLESS servers when players attempted to log-in. We will closely monitor the situation after the patch.
•We experienced database I/O delay due to the large influx of players. This caused a lot of the lag you experienced with looting, quests, and other actions. With the urgent maintenance, we upgraded database system/storage to top-end models in order to solve I/O delay. This should improve the lag players see during crowded server times.
•For Early Access, we prepared an additional six NA servers and five EU servers that can be added instantly without maintenance. In addition, we reinforced our in-game logs to help identify the cause of server crash issues.
Again, I would like to sincerely apologize to all the players who experienced any inconveniences due to server problems or connection errors. We will be a development team that communicates with you.
We know that these issues are just a few of the things that need to be worked on with the Early Access of Bless Online. We chose the Early Access format on Steam because the development and release of content for Bless will be a many-layered process throughout the EA period. We understand that many players are disappointed that not all of the content they expected to be in at Early Access launch is there.
Along with the performance issues, our top priority is addressing the reported potential item duplication bug. Once we can replicate this issue and solve it, we will let all of our players know.
Most importantly, we know that there is end-game content missing that many of you expected in this first Early Access build, given what’s available in the other versions of the game. Additions like the 15v15 PVP and new high-level dungeons will be added in 1-2 weeks’ time, with more to come soon after.
Bless Online’s Early Access was always intended to be a growing experience, with systems and content being added in the weeks and months ahead; this is why we chose the Steam Early Access program. We are sincerely sorry that our players were led to believe otherwise, and we are happy to allow refunds for those who feel they cannot wait for the new content to arrive. We hope that you will return to the world of Bless when the features you expect are in the game and ready for your participation.
Sincerely,
Sungjin Ko, Executive Producer"

The lack of any end game content seems very shady. Why wouldn't you disclose that you have absolutely no PVP in EA?
Duels apparently still crash the client too.
Ah man, we're OnRPGers, we've played a lot of betas in our lifetime. Never have I played a game in BETA as incomplete as this game. I wanted to support this company because of how hard they're working and hotfixing and patching, but honestly, just delay your release if your game is this broken.
Don't substitute EA for betas just to take peoples money. That's super shady and sets up a terrible relationship with your player base.
Also, hitting max level in 2 days shouldn't even be a thing. 20 hours to hit level 45 is absolutely terrible for a game with such minimal content.
Seems like all their time went into their several concurrent payment systems
From what I read, and what I think happen is that the steam version is a content and mechanic overhaul for the NA/EU version. Everything they do from the first day of founders and cash shop release seemed sketchy. I think people overhyped the game and expectancy of the game are way off. I think I remember posting way earlier in chaos post saying don't hype or expect too much because neowiz is the publisher.
I think that depends on what content you are looking for. Though, I think leveling is quite easy but they might have made some changes to dungeons because level 30 dungeon is not solo-able or that they skipped the level 30's content and focused on leveling to attempt to get to end game content. Either way I suggest to not buy the game if people are expecting this to be complete. But if you want to play and see as things comes out and change that's is worth it. In the end some will agree the core of the game is pretty fun. Just it's not complete or have the content of the other version published by other people.
Dude, things like server issues are fine for a launch day. BUT they locked people out of servers even though when the game first popped up one server option was available so everyone hopped on it. Later on they booted up more servers, but anyone who was interested in the game their friends weren't able to join their server because they locked that server for any new characters coming in. They disabled pseudo action combat for every class except zerker, no end game content, etc. They literally broke all their promises. Plus it being "Early access" is no excuse for it having broken translation. You are defending this like someone defending a bad tv show "IT IS MY FAVORITE GAME DON'T MAKE FUN OF IT" type thing. Or you are defending it because you don't want it to die because you have nothing else to play. Either way stop defending a dumpster fire.
this is a great example of what the korean mmorpgs have become.. lost ark, lineage eternal were just generic diablo rip offs that were boring as hell.. not to mention they tend to treat the english players like brainless cash cows because people don't really complain as much as they would in korea.
all of my friends refunded this game, i didn't even bother buying it because i knew it wouldn't improve after it failing countless amount of times in other countries.. they never learn nor care just like the rest of the korean developers, all they want is to cash grab, avoid this game at all costs!
i never thought i would say this but i'd rather play black desert online, hell maybe even dungeon fighter online
The thing about korean MMOs coming here is that they treat us like we are ******ed. BDO round table is meeting with them again and the way they are talking in the discord I think they are going to rip Pearl abyss 2 new ones. They didn't listen to any of our feedback, and they are basically turning it into carebear desert online
I'm not defending the game I am saying there are faults. I also recommend not to buy this game for reasons... I read up on things post-launch as well. It's my opinion they never promise anything to be final until the 2019. Whether they will have that psuedo combat or not is probably because of their bug issues. I'm not really following other peoples opinion about the game. I am basing on my opinion. From their statement to what I have played. Guess I can't have an opinion... or find a broken game fun. I'm level 45 and I have 80 something hours in the game. I run around I see things are not working. I am also frustrated about the initial server lag. I am also frustrated by their sidequest tracking bug that they fixed Saturday. I am frustrated at the nerf. But with all that I never treated this game as completed because of the statement of it not being ready till 2019. You can make fun of it all you want. I'll also admit those faults. It still doesn't change that the core game, when it works, is fun.
I remain in a neutral perspective. They are still sketchy. But whether you justify spending $40 depends on you.
As new patch and news comes out I think I am right about peoples expectation and over the top hate for the game. Though, they didn't have the transparency as everyone wanted but their reason has kind of align with my thoughts to why they did things the way they did. They are still skeptical. The news of why action combat is missing is because they could not figure out how to balance it with the game besides zerker class. Though, I think people should be cautious of the game. It is still in the middle of their revamp and makes me think I am more right that we are playing while their revamp is in progress as a steam early access program game. Ultimately, I still do not recommend anyone to buy this game. There are many reasons not to. Though, like I said before if you are willing to accept all of their faults and issues, keep a open mind of the game. Also be aware the player count is in a steady decline. Last Wednesday the game peak at 37k players. Over the weekend it peak at around 26k. On week days it is in the 20k player base. If we will see what the bless online can become is slowly becoming bleak.
The patch today seems to be more balance for the recent nerf and a explanation or excuse to why the combat are they way they are. More detail with their announcement article.

Ended up buying the game with some leftover money I made from selling clothes on pubg. It's definitely not amazing by any means but it's a good timewaster with friends. I recently rerolled onto one of the EU servers since all my NA buds quit the game and refunded already. Honestly the main appeal for me at this point are the races and customization, the classes and overall gameplay feel pretty bogged down and sluggish.
