I couldn't care less about post count, and I would like to see it gone, but I don't think hiding it in our profiles will change anything. It's best if you remove it completely if possible.
Another question arises, how will it reduce spam other than bragging posts? Most of the spam comes from idiots, you can't change idiots by taking away their post count.
Hiding the post counts would be a better choice. No one would compete about who has the highest count, or make useless topics referring to a person reaching 2000 posts.
Still, it's the staff's call.
I think that it's a good idea to hide post counts. Some people like to judge others depending on how much they 'post'. I see some users flame newbies about double posting, but when they see someone with over 1,000 posts double post, some of them just say " Bad computer ehh?" and shake it off. I don't really think that is fair to the newer people; they get less respect just because they have a low post count. (In some cases.)
Post count doesn't really do anything. Forums are a place to help others, and socialize, not a place to brag.Without post counts, I hope it'll get less spamming going on, and people will start to judge other by their actions.
@Ghengis: I think the term 'spam' in this case is a topic about how many posts one person has.
Maybe getting rid of the post count will stop the newbie's getting judged.

I like my post counts too, my 1000 Post count resolution, always type essays for replies. Example:
Hi, anyone know of any WASD MMORPG's?
Reply: Well, Ahem, lets consider the first EVER WASD game... etc

99.9% of the people here have 10 reputation though. If a title system were made based on rep it'd be boring.
If you guys want to get rid of post counts, yet still have some sort of title/ranking system with rep, we'd have to figure out a way to make rep more pronounced. Can we do that?
Btw, I say "whatever" to post count.
We could make the rep system available to other members; but that would only lead to abuse.
I saw just trach the post count system, and talk about what we're going to do for the rep later.

Seriously though, why are the post counts bothering everyone? So what if a noob has 3200 posts that consist of "Lol............"? And Jakuza is cool, I honor his spams. They inspire me.

Hide them altogether, not just exile them to profiles.
I don't care about my post count at all really, but I think it would suck if it was removed. Like everytime I see a member I haven't seen before, I look at their post count to see if they're new or if I just never noticed them. OrAnd there's other reason that I use post counts, don't really care if mine says 100 or 10,000 though.
i think the post count is useful for the little funny caption that is under your name.

In this case, the Free MMORPG section, a good example would be when someone joins just to ask for an invite to a CB game. =/
I kind of like it being shown not to say I'm better just to say I've been here for awhile. In my opinion it doesn't really matter either way other than I just like the numbers.
it wont stop the threads with "I got 1k/2k/3k posts since they just watch theire profile, therefore the spamming wont stop so you could just keep the post counts
