LOL tru dat. If WoW went only B2P SO MANY people would start playing it.
Halo rapes your anime loving face off ANYDAY.Quote:
Skin, please stop being so stereotypical and thinking everyone except you likes anime, yet you play flyff. BTW, halo sux LOL.
At the time of joining here I was trying out Flyff. I got to lvl 7 and quit - I hated the ridiculous grind featured in EVERY other anime MMORPG. I wrote that when I first joined here - one year ago. lol. How you guys use this as proof that I'm in "anime" fan is about as funny as Chinks mom in bed... *cough*Quote:
Lol, busted!! Explain that skin.
Anyways! I'm flattered *****... you actually checked out my profile... but ummm... can I wear the pants in the relationship? ^_^

Hmmm... Warhammer stole from WoW... ZOMG CONSPIRACIES!!!!!!!
Eh, good enough for me. I just cant get WoW to work, thats all. Might as well try out a new game instead. Plus i like games that has the following:
Anime style graphics
Katanas
Guns
Cool girl characters
And little or no hackers
Im still searching for the perfect game to play, out of all the ones im playing.
People don't trash this game without playing it, they trash it AFTER they play it. Also Blizzard has at least 6 million subscribers so. 6x15=96 96 million monthly. But of course a bit of that goes to all of those servers they have, their employees etc..
LMAO, this comes from the one who read something in this thread that was not really there. And now, your basically pulling the child effect. "I am not, you are!"
Your one sad boy.
So he fails, and retorts with a grammar error. Typical response of one who fails.
Now please go back and read what I said. Its comprehension of the english language, which you failed to read my post properly. Your showing good examples of what you should not do.
Whats With All This Madness! :(
I meant to say "need no growing" lol o_o
OK........
About WoW
There are a few things I do enjoy about it and a few things I do not like about it. If they removed the things I didnt enjoy, I would play it.
I dont need to worry about it, now. The things I wish they could change have been done in another game. Its community is better than WoW, its not a gear based system, it does not have the "lack of color", you cant "ninja" drops in the party system, and the crafting system is not a waste of time.
I am sure many of you know which game I am talking about. Lets see who find out what game I am talking about. No its not WAR.
guild wars?
hmm it's not war, is it foreign?
I do say, Guild Wars old chap.
Meh, the game is alright. It's fun if you have a nice guild and friends to play with, but most servers have crap communities.
If you are going to play it, I suggest a RP server. I've had great experiences with my Dwarf Gunpowder on those servers. :3
Cyber was referring to a game that contains crafting, does gw? i forget hah
Anything that is unaffordable to me is not a good game. Anything that is affordable is a good game. No matter what high featured it has, people who had no budget for it can not play no matter how good the game is. And because of the many new games emerging this year and year after, p2p games will soon pe phase out. Only the rich will play that game. But all of this is only my opinion. People also tend to sacrifice, paying for a game to play if it really ROCKS the WORLD!!! Try Virtual Reality MMORPG!! Then your world ROCKS!! XD
man if being able to pay for a p2p game makes me rich... lol maybe if you mean paying for multiple p2p games, which i could seeing being expensive.
Man, if you live in a poor country. Specially the value of Dollar is very HIGH!!! then you just make your living on your daily life to survive. If you play games you will starve and DIE XD Not every country is RICH. But it doesn't mean you get to criticize or stump your feet on poor countries.
I dont think P2P games will be obsolete. There are a few games that are coming out this year and next year that will have a P2P option. There also have been a few that already came out with the P2P profit build.
But, you also have those games that will come out and be F2P. Guild Wars 2, Marvel Universe (rumored), Aion (rumored), and many others. What I classify as F2P is no monthly fee.
Who knows what payment build will be dominant in the future.
Ummm its addictive to addictive thats y im not getting near it
If you want a game that is easy to get into and not hard to level up in whether solo or grouped, then WoW is definitely it. It's gameplay is solid and it offers a lot of content. The PvP is fun and easy to do, but not overly engaging. Of the P2P games available I think it is the best available. I consider the PvP in Dark Age of Camelot far superior and the PvE in Final Fantasy XI far superior, but overall WoW is a more complete package. The majority of the people on the boards here and alike mainly complain A) Because it popular and B) Because it has a monthly fee. Download the trial and find out for yourself if you like the feel.
I think that was the most pointless post I've heard all day.
And to answer your question, no, WoW is not as good as people say it is. Think mass hysteria. Or...something similar to mass hysteria.
edit: For some reason I thought B2P and P2P were the same thing. Silly me.
Technically almost every quality game is buy to play.
The definition of B2P is you have to purchase the CD key/Client install.
The definiton of P2P is a monthly fee.
The definition of F2P is no monthly fee.
The definition of Free Forever, means no intial purchase and no monhtly fee.
I have seen many gamers ask if its Free Forever or F2P. Which means, there is a difference.
You also have the ones who talk about games like WoW and Guild Wars.
They are defined as:
WoW- B2P and then P2P
Guild Wars- B2P and then F2P
That is why I use F2P in the way I do. Cause thats what it means, no monthly fee.
Sorry had to go to the store.
Maybe I just don't like WoW? Christ sakes man, its not hard to grasp, I-DO-NOT-LIKE-WOW. This is like saying to the guy who doesn't like pickles that he has to like pickles because thousands of other people like pickles, get off my back.
I meant clunky in the way the game play felt sluggish, the game itself ran great.
Lets put it this way.
If WoW was to go F2P
everyone would shut their mouth and play it.
OK you guys can stop guessing. Its Lord of the Rings.
I find it does the trick where WoW fails.
1. Its not gear based- the difference between an average gear and the highest grade gear is not that much of a difference. Thats including the the special abilities of the higher grade gear. The looks/style of the gear and the visual effects they display are really the big difference. I do like how your "versus" weapons glow when you near a specific mob. ( vs highwaymen aka humans)
2. It uses a lot of color and detail, but you can still have a low end system to play it.
3. Party system's loot share feature does not have a greed option. You either get it or not. I have never encountered a greedy prick in any parties. If a drop was a piece of gear I could use, I was able to ask and get it, if they were not the same profession as I.
4. The crafting system is either a succeed or "critical success" system. Everything you craft also improves the craft skill rating. You do have a cap for basic and mastery level.
5. The community is great. When you join a fellowship (party), you feel like its a fellowship. Your encounters with pricks within chat is almost nil. I cant say it enough, the community is the best I have encountered. Only one I thnk is close to equal to it is DDO's community.
The only flaw comes to those who enjoy PvP. Its really lacks that. But since the trilogy was not really about the war of good vs. evil, why do you need PvP in the game? The other main reason why it does not have any PvP is the creative rights. In order to have the rights to create this game, Turbine had to agree not to ruin anything with the storyline of the trilogy.
Classes are unique, the social system is fun to work with (ability to get new types of emotes just by emoting and socializing with others), the acheivement of titles/skills/powers/traits makes you feel that the grind is almost obsolete, and the little extras you find are quite fun (pie eating contest, hide and go seek, etc.....).
As I said before, it gives me the things I enjoyed about WoW, removed the things I hated about WoW, and gave me more to work with.
Now please dont say I am a carebear. If so, why I am a fanatic about the whole Warhammer franchise? DoW, 40K, MoC, minatures combat, and I am looking forward to the RvR system within WAR.
I still wouldnt. Like I sad, there are things about the game I do not enjoy. P2P, F2P, even if they paid me to play it, I would not do so. It has things withing the game I do not care for.
I play P2P games all the time, the main one I enjoy is DDO. I still play it to this date.
People want PvP because it gets very old quickly just killing a Linear AI PvE mob over and over. PvE can be very fun and quite rewarding. I enjoyed in FFXI, WoW, DAoC, and EQ for example going on raids and learning how to deal with trash mobs, then working on and perfecting the strats for defeating a boss with solid teamwork. However, after the first couple times it loses it's appeal which is the actual process of learning the fight. You then only go to gear up yourself or guildmates and not because you enjoy it. The social aspect of raiding can still be fun, but the machinations of the fights themselves lose all flavor. That is where PvP comes in to help alleviate that doldrum you fall into versus static environments. Fighting against living, breathing and sometimes thinking :p opponents is amazing because you always have to be on your toes for the unexpected. You might always fight people in a similar manner, but eventually people notice your habits and punish you severely.
The PvMP stuff in LOTRO is just simply trash. The PvP being added to DDO however I am quite curious about since I can't find much information on it.
Yes, the PvMP is somewhat bleh within LotR. Only good thing about it is it assists in acheiving certain traits you may desire for your player character. Only thing I look forward to in PvPM is getting enough points to play a troll or even worse......... to be added later.
The PvP within DDO is still iffy with me, since I am low level, and you always find campers that are at least lvl 10-14 (lvl 50 to 70 in MMORPG terms) within the game. From what I have seen of it and experinced, it feels like an improved version of RYL's PvP, without the ranking.
From what I have read, there are 2 differnt areas to can PvP. You can go to barfights or a huge open map where you can PvPvE. I am not clear on the open map though. The bar fights are fun.
But, WoW pvp is very lacking. Within the open map, its mainly all about camping and raiding maps that are much lower level than you are. And within the raid zones and instance, is more/less about gang ******. There is nothing that really makes me want to do PvP within WoW.
Thats why I am waiting to mess with the RvR system within WAR.
thanks guys for all the reply's and im not gunna get WOW if its grindy.
i'd rather stick with final fantasy 11 even though its hard to level. thanks i still cant believe i gt over 140 replys in over 1 night
