What is with the deal of marriage in mmorpg?

Ok I begin noticing more games have marriage added into their game. Game like Maple story,RO,OzWorld,Ects.

Sure you guy might think that,"Just leave them be, they isn't bothering you."
But in a way, it is kinda distrubing don't you think? Marriage should be something scarce.But nowday they are even adding that into games just to have their value players stay longer perhap?

Have addiction really grew to another level that this is really needed?I mean what next?Sex are then implanted into the game and and player can make babies? Ok that will just be weird.

i thinks its kinda stupid as well, but the reason they have it is because some people take these games way too seriously.

its like the rules for sex in D&D. i mean, wtf is the point in that?

I remember seeing some game that was gonna be about sex. If anyone can find that again lol post it. Well 15 year olds that get married online dont really realize what marriage is I guess and just find it a cool thing to show off i guess.

yeah i no, that's weird......marrage....in games......well some couples do it for the fun of it...some do it just to make fun of the system...some do it with friends they know.......the ones u need to watch out for, are the ones who actually take it seriously!

I think it works well for online lovers and roleplayers. What's wrong with it?

anyways the reason of marriage in games is because the game makers see that a lot of the players consider an mmorpg as a 2nd form of life, so they decided to allow the people to get married in the game also. Another reason is that people are really desperate so they need to marry a supposed "girl"(or guy if they are in to that) in a game -.- There area many reasons marriage is put into a mmo becase it's viewed as a 2nd life, desperate gamers, etc.

Yeah, I mean people are only getting their jive on with people they don't even know, and where half of the time they don't have any actual proof if the person is of their preffered sex, appearance, or real personality. Nothing creepy or pathetic about that.

I can almost garantee anyone who goes threw a gamming marriage is between the ages of 12-17, any higher then it just gets sad.

Anyway, i can't see why this would bother you to the extent of ranting about it on a forum. I see people get married all the time in RO. Its really they're loss, tuxedos and wedding dresses cost a lot. Also, its not addiction, i have friends who marry each other in games for the fun of it, though they are both guys or females. Its fun and sometime its roleplaying, deal with it. >_>

Marriage in a game doesn't bother me to much except for the people who do take it for real and the people who marry just to show off how much money they have. Some games though have it to where there are quest that only apply to married couple, which i think is kind of cool. but over all i think its an alright add on to a game but i would do it.

Many people play games just to role play and get away from their real life. Role playing marriage is a pretty big step towards showing you want their dream world to intertwine with yours. I think the dumb part about marrying someone in game though is when one of the spouses doesn't allow the other person to date someone in real life because of it. That's when it gets ridiculous, but that's usually just among preteens.

the developer thought about the lifeless geeks :P they knew they won't ever get married like themself so they put marriage system so 2 chars can marry :P most off the time is male female but it would be funnier to have gay and lesbian marriages to xD imagine xD a dude in a dress XD!!!!

Well in conquer online when u get married and are plvling ur husband/wife u get 2x xp so there is a use for it there
