People don't even get it. I mean, I hate the whole "emo" mentality...but, when people say "emos" it just irks me like nothing else. Its like people who don't know what the **** they are talking about calling me a "goth" cause I have the Misfits shoes with the crimson ghost on them...>_>

Emos aren't created from how they dress. Emos are people who are too emotionally upset with themselves that they dwell on their own pain and forget about whatever the rest of the world needs them for. They're lazy and don't see clearly. Dressing with dark colors and having an emo haircut doesn't make you one, and it still can make you unique as a person as well as unoriginal if you're just doing it because you can't find your own style. But the moment you start telling other people you're emo to try to fit in, you're a joke.
Basically, it goes like this. Once upon a time there was a subculture of people called "Goths". The whiny dimwits dressed in black, pissed and moaned about how horrible life was, and embraced the darker side of society in verse. Those who were actually Goths wound up killing themselves in fits of self-delusional depression and deserve our respect for cleaning the gene pool a bit. The rest of the pseudo-goth posers that were left decided they needed a new drug since suicide was hard to finish, so they ***** punk rock and are still trying to convince the world it's good. I blame Ian MacKaye and Morrissey for this travesty against mankind as they have inspired a legion of ladyboys with their garbage peddling. :(Quote:

Really, I think it's because of what a fad it's been to be emo. Just like back when all the little kiddies were going to Hot Topic to be punk. Then came the goth phase. People just are going along with the trend to stand out, yet it's a failed attempt. If someone were to tell me they were emo, I would immediately feel differently about them. I would think they were unoriginal and didn't know who they truly were because they had the need to follow the latest trend. Doesn't mean that's correct, but it's just because of how the word emo is used today and the feelings asociated with it.Quote:
