18-year olds will drink anyway, might as well make it legal.
If they want their braincells to die faster, might as well let them.
Who cares? People still underage drink anyways
Exactly they get caught and stop if its legal they DONT get caught and DONT stop this is like medicinal marajuana:(
And in other news: "America is having discussions on whether teens should enjoy beer while whole continent of Africa is starving."
Wow.
I dont think 3 less years is gonna do much of difference. Even if they dont change it 18 year olds are still gonna drink. Hell my cousin is 19 and i saw him drinking a bottle of budwizer while talking to his mumO_o
i find it amusing that the USA insists only people aged 21+ can drink
when anyone here in aus aged 18+ can drink, smoke, do whatever the hell they want and we have little to no problems with it.
politics and peoples parents need to stop thinking they know how it should be and ask the people it affects..like we did and ended up with a compromise
It doesn't matter, kids still drink underage. My brother was drinking a bottle of smirnoff (w/e the hell it is) and hes only 18.
Laws are just superficial things written in a piece of paper. Laws just make a country look "cool" or "great". But in reality, nobody cares. Just don't let the cops caught you drinking (the teens, i mean) and everything will be just fine :D
In my opinion if minors could prove they could handle the responsibility of alcohol than by all means consider it.
From what I have seen both on the homefront as well as at certain parties and such is that kids abuse it far to often. Thats not to say adult dont, but...I think first of all that minors need to show responsibility with alcohol before they can do it legally.
Everyday I hear from other people about how they puked thier brains out because of some strong drink they had, or even this one kid who went into a coma for a week because he drank to much. I dunno....
i dont get what's the big deal about drinking at 18. in canada at 18, your legaly and adult, and you can drink and do w/e the **** you want. and i doubt were getting much problems out of it.
18 to young? i cant get over the fact about how rediculous that is.
im 17 and im going into in apartement with 2 friends in about 2 weeks and it aint any problems for us.
Silly americans.
Think about it..
if there was no violation or law for killing someone, people wouldn't do it.
Why? Cause breaking the rules is what people find 'cool', nowadays.
It would be the same thing for drinking...
Kids find drinking before the minimum age mark 'in', 'hip', and 'cool'.
If there was not any rule against it, they wouldn't be doing it.
I'm not 18, nor 21, and I drink just for the taste of it, not for my brownie points towards friends.
GTFO, newbs.
Laws like everyone has mentioned means nothing, there is and will continue to be underage drinking. I myself started drinking at 12 under my parents supervision why? simple to learn how to drink, if one doesn't learn how to properly drink then you have all these kids which just go ahead and just start chugging beers and then what do you know a few shots of tequila later they have to be rushed to the hospital or have to be watched over to make sure they don't choke on his puke why he's passed out.
I say change the law because i have to agree, if we can go to a war we should be able to drink aswell, plus i wouldn't have to tell my mom or sister to buy my beer lol
That is because they are not educated about it. All we are really told is "IT'S BAD, DON'T DO IT!"
We are lied to about drugs and how they effect us. They don't tell the truth, don't tell the true effects and leave it at simply don't do it period.
They do not educate anyone on how to moderate yourself and correct usage.
Now, in germany, and most of europe, legal drinking in a bar age starts at around 16-18.
I say legal drinking in a bar age because under that you:
1: can still go into a bar
2: Drink upon private property is allowed.
There are variations on these laws country to country, but that is basicly how it is across most of Europe.
Now...
About all of these problems that everyone keeps saying will happen if underage drinking is allowed...
Please find it in those countries. Because, considering that they have "underage" drinking legal, they obviously should have those problems.
Find them, and then I'll believe you.
in belgium it's legal to drink beer after 16, so yeay for me :p
