I still don't like Lupe Fiasco.
Mos Def + skater schtick - knowlegde of self - flow - charisma = Lupe.
realest hip-hop thats been mainstreamed so bleh his message is getting out versus Mos-Def cd's being boughten but not talked about.
Give lupe his props.
I am not opposed to all mainstream hip hop, I just don't like Lupe Fiasco. I fail to see any originality in his music.
i didnt even bother waiting for all those clips to buffer. -_-
"American Terrorist".....you dont think....cmon Lupe is original..he's a kid doing his thing and using his voice.
Even if he recycles...he's still putting a message out. I mean he should still because hes putting some meaning into his music. I think that whole MosDef-x-x-x=Lupe cmon now.
the most hipy hop song ever
baby got back-sir mix a lot
Eminem should be on the "realest hip-hop" list.Although I would say the same for fif around 2 years ago,but I can't now -_-
And of course Nas.I can't think of anything else right now. It's kinda like "whats the first thing that comes in your head when you hear the word ___" And thats what I came up with.
HIP HOP IS DEAD- NAS
Nas-Suicide Bounce
This is like one of my favorite songs from Nas.Sorry it's not an actual video but a Naruto AMV.
So why post? Posting for the sake of showing lack of interest in the thread is ******ed. Are you trying to cleverly show us you're a ******? If so, stop. You're about as sharp as a balloon full of cotton balls.
I'll let that slide assuming you're both white and very ignorant. Because even suggesting that 50 Cent belongs on a list containing the words 'hip hop' and not 'worst excuse for' all but guarantees you are so ignorant that your opinions are automatically void.
Besides the fact that I don't think anyone but you referred to this thread as a 'realest hip-hop' list (I know I didn't and I made it). There are more than a few artists and songs that I chose not to post for the simple fact that I don't have time to go and list every hip hop song by every hip hop artist I like. I merely compiled a list of the best hip hop songs (that I could find on youtube) to represent hip hop to the hip hop-nubs.
Before some moderator tells me I shouldn't be flaming the babies, I didn't. They drenched themselves in gasoline and lit a match, alls I did was shove it in their face to guaranteed they learned their lesson about playing with fire.
Wrong,I know this is the 'net and all but I'm a proud African American. And its funny how you find me ignorant.Didn't you even read the second sentence correctly?I mean come'on,I was saying if it was 2 years ago then he WOULD be on the realest list. But since his new album hes not worthy of the title, nah mean?Read everything before you post man.
And also, like I said before,I didn't have the time to go through them either.

Douchiest isn't even a word.Yes I think 50 cent would've been a great person to the list before. If he wasn't another "real" rapper (Eminem) wouldn't have signed him.And the other "real" rapper (Dr.Dre) wouldn't have produced him.I mean you just sound like another hater to me.I like fifs new album, but its not all that great like the other ones.If your talkin all this ish at me,tell the 1,176,000 people who bought his album wordwide. And the other 500,000 who probably downloaded illegally.
And fif is just doing what the other rappers are doing.Put an album out and hope to make money. If rappers rapped for "just the fun of it",then there would be no profit in the industry.Projects couldn't be completed,no promoting,no advertisements,or music videos. And most rappers would be on corners selling drugs or workin' a 9-5,some have college educations so either way some of them are all good. You can't just expect to do this shit for free,so they would expect sumthin' back for the large amounts of money they put into it.
I'm not gonna argue over a guy, because its just gay.And I choose to end it here.
'Ain't' also isn't a word, but I'll bet you've said it.
I'd also like to point out there is a clear cut difference between rap and hip hop, atleast in my eyes. Hip Hop has a message, is clearly thought out, and generally doesn't involve gratuitous use of the words '****' and 'ho'. Rap is generally defined by those words, and is focused less so on having and type of valuable message, and more so on gloating about their ill-gotten gains and lying about how they got them (real gangsters spend the majority of their lives in prison and rarely live beyond 30).
Quoting record sales in suggestion that record sales equal quality is an extremely good way to prove that you are indeed an idiot. Because by that same logic, Britney Spears would be a bloody genius who releases the best albums ever.
Ain't is a word.Look it up in the latestdictionary.
And I could've sworn I didn't quote record sales.I distinctively said tell that to the millions that like him.
And obviously you don't know how hip-hop and rap has changed over the years.Or else you would've posted that before all of that BS.It's about money, yea no one wants to hear that shit.I don't even want to hear it.But thats what it is.Thats why Nas made "hip-hop is dead".Maybe it is dead creatively. But people like Common,'Ye,Nas,and so on are keeping it alive. And I appreciate that.
Hip-Hop is poetry, poetry is an expression of ones feelings. So if they feel like saying '****' or 'ho' then so be it.In reference to 'Pac,Biggie,Jay,Getto Boys,Nas,Common,etc..
And really,I SHOULD be the one to call you ignorant to put reference of a pop-star.Which has nothing whatsoever to do with rap and hip-hop.
What do you think pop stands for? Because if you're amongst those us with a brain, you'd realize it is short for popular and refers specifically to mainstream media. Nowadays there are few artists more mainstream than 50 Cent or Eminem (no matter how unfortunate that is). Therefore by your own logic, you are the ignorant one, because you introduced pop-stars to a hip hop conversation.
Do yourself a favor, next time you feel like you're smart enough to argue with me, finish highschool, get into college, meet someone smart who is going to lawschool, and then when you fail out of college and get stuck in a dead end job, at very least you have a lawschool graduate lawyer friend who is smart enough to argue with me and perhaps will tell you why your opinion is null before you embarass yourself. :)
Hmm,I wonder how long you spent on this?In YOUR case,its short for popular.Which is true.BUT,POP is a genre.POP is NOT HIP-HOP.Pop can be a sub-genre for R n B,but not Hip-Hop.
Once again, you phail.Go wiki that shit up.As you can see there is no rap-pop or hip-hop pop.Which sounds gay.
Once again, you phail. You phail even harder this time, for trying to bring your personal life into debate. And thats a sign of insecurity.
