Buy a Xbox360 or no?

Yo was just wondering if I should buy a xbox360 or not. I just had my birthday, and I got some cash and I'm wondering if getting one would be a good idea, because if I'm going to spend it I wanna spend it on something good. So anyone think if this would be a good idea?

You guys would really help me out even more if you would explain why I should get one rather than saying yes or no. Also I heard there was a manufacturing problem or something about them overheating, is this fixed?

If you're getting an Xbox 360, make sure you can get Xbox Live also. An Xbox 360 without Live is boring IMO.

Yeah if I do get a 360, I'll be planning on getting live, but still want to see if anyone thinks there's better things to buy with the money. I'm a hardcore gamer, but I don't know if it will be worth it.

I think the 360 currently has the best library of the 3 current gen systems. If you're getting a gold account, go ahead and get one.

so far the x360 has a vast library of games as kriff said, it all depends on your tastes, if you are a hardcore rpg'er then I suggest waiting next year for a ps3, if you are an all-arounder, the x360 it's simply the best for you (or a very riged up PC for that matter)

depends on how good your computer is. If your pc can handle pretty much anything then get the 360. If it cant then get some upgrades for it.

played PS2 at a friend, didnt like it, got a xbox, somes games were damn good, got a wii and was happy first.
then a friend recommended me a xbox360, bought it with xbox live and I LOVE IT! XD best console IMO.

Atm id get a 360, I got mine, No Problems with it (Though I'm European and we got the good 360's >>) Make sure to get Live, because as people have said, Live is one of the main reasons to buy a 360, that, or wait till Christmas ish time and buy yourself a PS3 its libary of games should be pretty decent by then

Yeah, buying an xbox 360 is a good idea. I only had to pay 100$ for mine cause I got it off a friend =P But still it's a good buy.

Plus Bioshock + Gears of War + Halo 3 = Win!

if you want to download the entire contents of the xbox live market place and keep it all, then get the 120 gig one. Otherwise just get the 20gig one, it holds plenty. In the end you can buy the 120 gig hdd seperately.
