My guess is that if there's no patch on the manhunt site and no patch offered by Microsoft for some fix, there's probably nothin' you can do about it for the time being. I've heard about people making Halo 2 work for XP and stuff like that, but I don't know how that would work for your problem. But since I don't have vista, that's all the advice I can offer.
