Buy a distortion pedal??
Mess around with the tone until you get what you like.
Or try adjusting to some premade settings here.

Muhaha now i can play like slayer and dethklok :D
PS: I know this is pretty off topic, but do you guys think this is a good amp for a cheap/reasonable price? http://www.guitarcenter.com/Roland-C...0-i1169242.gc#
Those are the settings for the amps that the band uses.
Haha. Anyone know if silvertones are good? My firned laughed at me when I told him. xP
That i had a silvertone. Its a black and white stratocaster. Its soo generic xD
haha, probably
Idk, my cousin said that fender stratocaster are pretty good beginner electric guitars so yeah.
Back on topic, is there any kind of special pedal you want?
Boss pedals are pretty solid.
Get metal zone or something like that.

Umm how much do you want to spend?
Roland makes great solid state practice amps. Do yourself a favor and buy the Cube 15x and some sort of cheap Ibanez if you want to play metal. I'm gonna recommend the Ibanez GRX20.

Also for the metal sound, buy an Ibanez DS7 distortion pedal:

Try de-tuning for a more metal sound. Drop D, Drop C, things like that. Buy some larger gauge strings like some Ernie Ball's Not Evens to help you get to these tunings.

Oh and by the way, if you buy a Cube 15x you don't have to worry about the pedal right yet. You get a pretty decent metal distortion setting from the amp. The pedal would be better but you're not playing gigs or recording quite yet so it can wait.
Yep should save you $40. You get the Cube 15x for $100. Pretty much any 15 watt amp is going to be around that price, but the Cube has a lot of effects built in and makes it a great value for the price. Fender and Marshall try to sell their own 15 watt amps for around $130. Never buy one of them, you're paying soley for the name.

Drop D is good for thrash and power metal with an edge.
It's good for making power chords easier than they normally are.
ok, now anyone know of any good cheap Tuners? somone told me my guitar sounded like a cat being ***** by a elephant.
Good cheap tuners? No. Just buy an electronic tuner at the store and tune it every 15 minutes like all us had to with our first guitars. Just go to your music store and buy a $20 Korg or something.
Putting in new tuners would be a lot of work for a beginner and you may end up messing up your guitar and not being able to use it. If you insist upon it though I'd buy some Grovers.
You can find online tuners that will play for you the individual notes that the strings should sound like.
EDIT: Here you go bro.

I tune it and retune all the time and I've just got a shitty squier.
Drop B and E is my favourite. Then you have C Standard and for that grunge/metal feeling Drop D is the way to go.
Ever tried Drop A? Tonnes of fun for me because I can play that All Along The Watchtower cover from BSG. :).
A great amp to buy with distortion effects is the Roland Cube30x. You can get such clean sounds from it and with the great presets it has, metal sounds too :).
