I tried it again.. still a lot of bugs.. and camra might be weird to you at first.. it seems all loose. Good little amount of English people.. you'll be sure to make some friends because if you speak the same language, it's better then being around a bunch of spanish...
If you get used to the gameplay, and figure out where to level.. it's a pretty awesome game.. worth a shot I guess.
Thank you Syetactic. Downloading now :D (just to keep me busy untill CB of Infinity :D)
We could play together :D
When i tried it i found it to be quite a laggy game and the server population was small 90% of the people speak spanish or something like that. If there was more english speaking people to talk to team with it might be an ok game.
Imo its different. Why? Because its not an asian mmo. Its probably the only decent f2p western mmo out there. Could give it another shot I guess.
Not to nit pick but:
Regnum Online is a fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by NGD Studios, a game development studio located in Argentina.
Not exactly what I consider Western but if you are trying to say that it isn't Korean.. then I am with ya.
LOL
It's pretty much point and click. However, you get a lot of skills. This is one of the most interesting things of the game. There is so much variety in the skills of people, that in reality there is no "perfect build." Some people are set for fort conquests, others are set for RvR wars, and others for PvP battles. If you want a new combat system, then you won't find it here. But if you want extreme diversity and individuality in the skills you use in combat, then give it a try. Honestly, being a victim of several spells in RvR wars (which are a blast, by the way), it's hard to come across with the same combination of spells.
If the graphics are bothering you, you'll get used to them. And even once or twice my jaw has dropped at some pretty nice landscapes. The map is very extensive.
Also, it is made by an argentinan company, so see it as a non-asian foreign game with a considerable english-speaking population. If you don't find anyone, simply go to the forums. There's a whole group of sections dedicated to the english-speakers.
Im downloading again. this game was one of my first mmorpgs and got me kept for long time...
though the grind is horrible, already after level 10, if you dont got a nice group...
Btw. stop talking in cliches! south american people are very friendly, and they help you a lot, just try speaking in world chat. VERY HELPFUL PEOPLE!
You don't have to point and click..
I started playing a few days ago. I'm still in the newbie area..
The beginning is like any other game - start doing quests that teach you how to play
I'm just waiting till I get into an English guild before I judge the gameplay
If anyone wants to play, I'm on Syrtis, or whatever the good guys are. the normal elves (green emblem)
IGN: Jae
It seemed okay when I played, the graphics bothered me a tad though.
Gfx didnt bother me... at least it isnt as buggy as all those ''wanna'be'' high graphic games, with lots of bugs cause it was made too fast...
I might consider making an IGN thread for Regnum.... never really thought ONRPG got the chance to enjoy the game...
I'm online right now, looking for stupid Bears
Also how is it point-n-click? I can't point and click to move :( only WSAD
EDIT: How are archers in PvP? I hope they're good/balanced
Well i lagged bad when i played it, might give it a chance again, el unico juego en español que he visto que sea algo formal. :D
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I meant point at a monster, click it, use skill. Sorry if I mislead you.
I've been playing this since beta (not consistently though; I took a lot of breaks in between) and OnRPG always seemed to hate it for some reason. I've always liked it, though; especially for its minimal and friendly community.
Classes are well balanced. There is, however, a balance team that is in charge of finding any inequality in them, so don't worry about that so much.
Also, as I said in another topic, the developers constantly check the forums for suggestions/complaints and act upon them. Most of the updates they do are based on the players' responses.
Yes, the controls are WASD only, but I don't see that as a bad thing. It would be pretty hard to handle yourself in wars if it wasn't that way.
For leveling... let's see.
At any level I would recommend training on monsters you see as Normal and/or Challenging. Always look for quests at the Town Crier. They will give you a considerable of money and experience throughout the game. Also, the game incourages team work, so partying is always a productive (and fun) possibility.
