I fear this game will be too cash shop dependant, but I have that fear with a lot of free to play games nowadays.
look at the foriegn versions.
Korean only lets free members play 2 hours a day.
TW is severly limited on customization and pets and rebirth.
Japan i can't say because i never stuck around to find out, but i'm sure its as bad if not worse.
now lets play "follow the trend"
what do you think will happen with this version?
8/10. Lots of stuff to do. That's all I really care about. I don't usually pay because most games lack content worth paying for and i dont care about being disadvantaged cuz its free anyway. Besides, you'll always find people willing to sell cash shop items anyway.
CONSIDERING the fact that most of everyone in the MMORPG business thinks the average American gamer is completely different from everyone else, I'm going to predict that Mabinogi will become easier and probably more player friendly than the overseas versions, and definantly not "follow the trend" at all.
If it comes to a dark fate, send some Kefka into Nexon's HQ. That'll fix them.
Blame it on morons.
1/10
I gave it a 1 cause i am nice. ^^ , cause 0/10 would be just sad.
As for me i dont care about the CS To me i dont think CS doesnt change anything but looks and features....
I just hate the combat. Just like some1 said before. Rock, Paper, Scissors? Come on....
The type of combat i love is either something like OKRA (going to try it out soon) and Domo...I love attacking 10 monsters at the same time.
Mabinogi is mostly quest after quest for me.

I must say the teleporting skill looks sweet, and maybe even the transforming skill.
But think about how much you have to go through....the teleporting is probably a skill you get at lvl 30.
I know i didnt last till lvl 6. Sorry. But of course all the good skills are at the end.
Why do you think when a game is released they have a video of a warrior doing 20k on enemy. When you log on you start off by doing 10's...and dont really feel like reaching that goal.
this is just like 'onrpgers' hype a game so much. then they get to play it and say it sucks. -.-
and the grahpics didn't matter when they wasn't playing it.
About 7/10 from me, mainly because it would cost me more to play Mabinogi than to play LOTRO :F
Hey guys i got a question to the people flaming mabinogi.
You seem to hate mabinogi.
Most of you hate maplestory.
You dont go to their section and flame it do you?
Why here -_-
Ah, and yet people are saying im hyping yet ive spent quite abit on the TW version and played it for a long period and im waiting to play this version.
The hypee's were going on about all the features and combat system. It gave them exactly what they wanted. Some people aren't suited for that change and rather the old MMO style. I would say you; but you don't seem to enjoy that also.
It delivered, but some people don't like the way it runs. 4 years going strong, I doubt those little opinions are even a bump in the road. Nexon is clever and they don't take in useless games, they drag in people from all sides of the mmo world who want a change.
That's why I love them, I say move on. Mab is great, change it up, make it the proud NA version that it more fair then the others. Pre-OB, first G. Does it even matter, if you don't like it know you won't like it as it progresses. Every game starts with the simple boring monsters then upgrades, you can't make it there if you can't make it past the starting line.
I wish the best, and I also doubt the cash shop destroying the game. The other versions are doing just fine. Not everyone is so tight on their pockets.
Eh, let's just sit back and watch for now.
I give the game a 7/10 its good but when i got to lvl 15 there wasn't much to do and the quests just stopped coming in. All you could do were part time jobs and dungeons, BTW Ciar dungeon is the shit, 2 floors and those floors are huge compared to alby. I tried becoming a blacksmith but I think its not implemented in POB... It kept me busy for a day but then I went back to playing Cabal which i give a 8/10 so far considering it's free.
I'll make my overview of it short;
Pros;
Unique, there's a lot of stuff to do and the graphics are at least semi-original, which is rare in the industry now-a-days. You can keep entertained if you like all of the job skills, since you don't need to slave over a spawn point for hours to level up. Actually follows a storyline that doesn't seem like it was written with a crayon.
Cons;
Fighting is dull, not like it was made out to be. Very childish, makes it hard for people who prefer more mature games, and communities, to enjoy it past the first tutorial area. Cash shop is a necessity rather then an option. Graphics are outdated.
I give it a 55, out of 100.
I already find myself grinding in dungeons for gold to waste on useless merchandise that i'm just gonna store in my bank.
If they added PK to this, then it would be a hit imo :D.
It's a great game,cash shop dependent however.
9/10,the only reason stopping it from a straight 10 are the graphics (Even though the japanese version has graphics more detailed) and the english community, which is going to suck major donkey penis.
Oh and guys,FORGET ABOUT QUESTS!It's the DUNGEONS with a party that are fun.I playied TW and it had a small but great english community.Even though i died like hell in the dungeon,i enjoyied every moment of them.It was like a real RPG,the ones you get nostalgia when you look back.
It wasn't mindless slashing and hacking,we had roles and strategies. The english version doesn't have such things, especialy due the community beeing mostly imported from yucky Maple.
Maplestory - Has numerous servers.
Kart Rider - Has a very small community.
Perfect World - Has EU players in-game, but is very laggy and has caused numerous players to quit.
RF Online - Like you said, small community.
Wolfteam - Is hardly even known about. Is the game even in Full Release yet? Plus, Softnyx hosts globally, so they have better servers to handle players from all around. They also have numerous servers (Not in the game, but actual servers) around the world.
Guild Wars - Players spread out over 4 continents, and EU has a separate district, the International district.
World of Warcraft - Has a ton of servers spreading all the players out.
Shadowbane - Like you said, small community.
He made a completely non-idiotic valid point. When you take a game as popular as Mabinogi, and add players from another region filled with tons of MMOG gamers, the servers will lag like hell.
He's saying; There are a ton of NA players who will be flooding the servers, add in a ton of the EU players and the servers are bound to crash (Over-dramatic) or lag badly.
That's what happened with Perfect World MY. Closed Beta was smooth as could be, then you add in all the NA and EU players in OB/Full, and it started to lag like hell. Thus, tons of players quit because in combat their attacks were being delayed, causing bad gameplay.
Sorry, but I don't like people insulting the community when they don't have a good example in front of them. If you want to insult it because of someone making a stupid post like "zomg hlp me i lik mplestory! gimme mesos!", then go ahead.
Also, Lorek;
Everyone but 3/4 of the people?
No offense, but that pretty much makes you part of the 1/4 of the people, because that statement is completely ignorant. Everyone is meant to mean 100% of the people. What you're referring to is 25%. You could have said, "Everyone but 1/4 of the people here", since that is meant to mean 75% of the people are ignorant, which is commonly used because it's more then the majority and is close enough to the 100% to make a point.
But who says "Everyone, except almost everyone"? That is after all, what you basically said.
Once again, just don't like people insulting the community without a valid example in front of them.
I'm trying Mabinogi out since I didn't think my computer could handle it but now that I find out the system specs I'm dandy.
I'm downloading right now seems very promising cause when I play a game... I play like their's no tomorrow >=\...
I mean 1/4 -_- I fixed it.
its got widescreen mode if you check it in options.
First Star Online was a good game until they ruined it.
Also, when Talesweaver first came out, that was good, you can still play on test servers.
Heck, I even had more fun playing ArchLord, lol.
Mabinogi is the same as every other Korean mmorpg out there recently, they all have the same style in graphics, which is very generic.
yeah i think so too.The World detail is better then the chars i think...but for some reasons ...its not important ^^ mabinogi gets 10/10 and no i am not a mmorpg noob i played for 6 years all mmropgs arround this place (*** korea and english) and mabinogi is my favorite
i am from eu and i am pissed off too like the others that nexon blocked us but i use hotspot shield and can play without lags (yeah i can connect ^^)
How is a level 5 suppose to face a level 20 in pvp?
All that stuff sounds so nice and all, too bad it lasts less then 2 weeks.
Erm, I'm pretty sure all level 20's would pwn a level 15, I haven't seen it other way round unless the level 15 was with a group and the level 20 had more then 1 guy on him.
Plus the game isn't gear based because it's so easy to get the best gear so quickly. Without it you are at a disadvantage, but that hardly happens because like I said it's so easy to get.
Also RBL, are you scared to reply to my request?
So I'm guessing this means you're finally accepting you were wrong.
Good boy.
Yeah, I didn't like the fact that at least 97% of the musicians were all copy and pasted score writers. Nothing against it, just wanted to let people know that there's more than Anime theme songs out there to actually listen too. >_>
I'm a musician myself, so I might just sound picky here. XD
