Computer wise, for single player there is Morrowind and Oblivion.
For MMO, Eve Online.

SA-MP felt soooo horrible, omg.

If you consider, "Your character has to be fully fleshed out, with interesting background, weaknesses, strengths, etcetcetc before being able to RP" badass without being jerks about it, then yeah.

Yes, there are servers that aren't like that as well, but all of them really just seem to revolve around "Which character is a friend of the DM" with the rest left to fend for themselves :P
