what kinda model kit are you getting? when i was a lad before i started doing wh40k i had a few airfix(lol) kits and other stuff like that. thankfully they are alot better now and not made out of the cheapest plastic.
1/35 scale depends on what the model is... like if its a car or a tank or plane or something.
it could be anywhere between the size of a childs toy car to something around 15cm in length, 1/35 just means its 35 times smaller than the actual thing you are modeling. it wont be epicly massive though.
