I am just wondering, has there been a single game that most of the OnRPG has almost fully agreed to be a good game? Or is this community so separated and diverse that we have not a single agreed choice?

Big difference between a flame war and asking a question of agreement. There can be no flame if a large portion disagree's with one persons idea of a good game, that means it is not mutually agreed on.
You obviously haven't seen a lot of flame wars around here.
I'd have to say that probably... Ragnarok Online is the only game that the majority of the community can agree on. Seriously, there's no one that really hates the game, as far as I can tell. Dislike, maybe, but hate?
I'm not going to mention the other games, as I've become a cynic when it comes to MMOs, and will likely be flamed via PM... so.
Regardless... It's a rarity when more than 50% of the community agrees on a game..
Oh, and throwing this one out there... Didn't people like use 'ta love ROSE Online? Or did everyone sorta start hating it? (I remember there used to be a ton of fans hanging around and now... I've seen like... few fans.)
The thing with ROSE online is that they shut down the free english server. Losing many, many fans. Me included.Quote:

I'm with the general concensis on this one. Ragnarok Online seems to be a well loved game here. I could be wrong though.
Speaking of which, Lothia, would it matter if the game is free or not?
I have found that most of the mature members who are looking for premium service (P2P) agrees that LoTR and DDO are great MMORPGs, and that DAoC is a great PvP experience.
I would add Warhammer: Age of Reckoning on that list, but not many have got the chance to test the recent CB builds.
I think everyone Once Loved Ragnarok when it was still in Beta. Or even by trying it on a P-server (i dont say plyaing on p-server is okay, just that they surrely enjoyed the game :P), Otherwise i think everyone agree's that GuildWar is a great game for PvP. And,...i think WoW is still the more enjoyable one for most people =/

Yeah I think spacecowboy was awesome when it still aired. I think its air rivals now? I dunno.
Also I played silkroad. The game play is fantastic, but they grind is scary

Never liked trickster, never liked ragnorak. Neosteam is boring, totally like the game hero. Pretty much anything where you must use pots and able to solo monsters 10 levels higher than you is stupid.
Gunbound: its okay, got a virus from that game though
Gonzu: boring, need apprentice stuff to help you
Lunia: Same as the gonzu, boring
Pirate King: Super boring
Monster and Me / Fairyland: Empty, boring
Eudomons: Terrible
Sherwood: Worst game ever
Puzzle Pirates: WTF is this game about?
Fly For Fun: too boring at early stage lvls, massive grind
Mobinogi: Boring , can't understand korean (i think its korean)
Maplestory? Don't understand how people can like such a repetitive game
MUDS and Browser based games: Never seen a good one, Runescape was a good try, but it only benefits members.
All ob,cb, p2p games can go to hell in this topic. Since we can't play them. I play WoW right now, its the best MMO to date hands down.

although i only play wow now i gotta agree with most people that RO would be the game that at least 50 percent or more agree on being "good".

Also Dan you said 2 games that made me think were correct. MapleStory but more importantly Monster and Me that game seemed to have a high following with not much flame, but perhaps it was just the fact that most people then didn't flame as much.
i think a lot of people liked SoTNW. when it was in CB, alot of people wanted to play it.

Thing is i've been in an "ugh" mood for over a week now, not sure what to make of it...and its not really an "ugh" mood just everything pisses me off beyond belief...stabbed the wall and myself more times than I can count in the past couple of weeks right now I'm still somewhat depressed but I'm occupied by SP1 so I guess I'll just have to keep going from game to game.Quote:

I actually find this quite funny. A game like RO would seem like a textbook case of fanboish praise along the lines of what others would call overhyped... Yet even some who didn't like it acknowledge it. In hinsight RO is a pretty weak MMORPG. It gets away with it due to it's charm.Quote:

i think most people have agreed that runescape is a good game, it just has the worst community on earth in its f2p section
