I'm in the same class as my 2 year older brother (I'm 16 and he's 18), and my parents are always fine with my grades at least if I get a higher grade then my brother, which I usually do *awesome pose*.
Well I usually get good grades..
Not high because I don't study...
But if I get like 5 or 6 [grades are 0-10] my dad tells me that I can do better..
Because I'm intelligent and blahblahblah...
What I really wanted was some reward for good grades :/

Yeah it's a pain having asian parents. Especially since my sister gets good grades. Considering that I put 1/10th of the effort she puts in and get only slightly lower grades it's not that bad.

Dropped out at the age of 17, parents supported me going to a facility known as Job Corps where I spent about 2 years, learning construction, and I got a little taste of college when I went there. I got my honors GED, a certificate in commercial painting, about 21 certificates relating to construction, and I learned so much when I stayed at Job Corps. Everything over there is free, which is awesome, they pay for your college if you don't qualify for financial aid. I think dropping out of highschool is probably one decision I don't regret.
Hmm...according to most posts here...Seems like to your parents your grades are more important than you are...Kinda sad when you think about it...

This school year mostly A's and B's, although, in second and beginning of third quarter, I got suspended, so, my grades went down. My parents got pissed. I also received refferals and I got a lot of C's this quarters for messing around in class.
Wow, my parents are asian, and they're not even strict. I got in 4 fights this year, 7 refferals, and they barely even care(The ONLY time they do care is if I get straight F's, but I mostly get A's and B's). I feel sorry for you people saying "A= Not good enough". Your parents need to be shot.

we have a number system so it goes like this
65 or below = failed course
100-90 - Wow you got a 90+? Good job son!
90-80 - Good job!
80-70 - Decent Job but you can do better
70-65 - You better do ALOT better next time
65-Below - Lecture and usually grounded for a few days but i havnt failed a course since 8th grade.
