So I Sprained My Ankle...

Anyone know any remedies/techniques that will help it heal faster?

I sprained it on Saturday in an AAU basketball tournament game... I go up for the jump shot and this dude on the other team sticks his leg under my foot and wham I land on his foot and roll my ankle.

I was out for the rest of the game and missed the other game in our tourney. :-/

ALSO, my workout schedule for improving my hops is delayed...

Wow, this sucks.

I can hardly put any weight on it without it hurting, and can hardly walk.

Any help? Anyone else ever experience any broken bones/sprains or ligament/tendon tears? XO

Sprained Ankle heals - less than 10 days

Sprained ankles can heal in 7-10 days, but most doctors will tell you that it takes 4-6 weeks. Of course, this all depends on how severe the sprain is.

The 4-6 week time period is the taking the most conservative approach which is basically not doing anything other than letting nature take its course.

If a person wants to accelerate the rehab process there are proven methods available to do that which reduce healing time to 7-10 days.

The methods involve reducing swelling in the injured ankle fast by immersion in ice water bath followed by movement. Once the swelling has gone down, then strengthening of the ankle can begin using any one of several recognized rehab techniques.

It is recommended that during the rehab process, everybody should wear a lace up ankle brace to prevent further injury and provide peace of mind.

Protection of the injured ankle can be increased even more by taping first and then adding a lace up ankle brace.

A search for ankle taping video on any of the major search engines should give you specific instructions about how to tape a sprained ankle.

My mom always tells me to "Walk it off" I do not recommend this approach though, it does NOT help.

Seriously if you cant take the "pain" of a sprained ankle you probably shouldnt be playing sports.

Gaming forum, yes it is. You know its possible to sprain your ankle while playing video games, you gotta try reallll hard but its possible. And speaking of pain you know a tooth ache is pretty much the worst pain ever, its even worse than child birth some say.

I think a woman shoving a human being out of her lower region would hurt worse than a tooth ache,

Seriously I read somewhere that a serious tooth ache is one of the worst pains you can go through, even than some births. Now I've had one toothache where I wanted to punch myself till its gone, thats just me though XD.

I've never had a tooth ache must suck though. XD

I broke my femur in the 6th grade and the ****in teachers made me sit down with my leg proped up on a chair and my leg was kinda hangin backwards they called my mom to come get me some of my classmates helped me to the car then when we got there I couldn't get myself out so some big doctor dude came and manhandled my ass into a wheelchair they put a cast on it but it was to small and didn't support the break so I still couldn't walk for 2 weeks til they called me back in to get the cast redone. Then when the cast came off my leg was fugly and funky smellin and I had to wear a brace for a few weeks.

try having a humidfier in the room your in

and also keep it up at all times and drink LOTS AND LOTS OF MILK
