ok i need to fuking install windows xp i got vista ulimate right now i fuking hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and when i put my disk in and i press install windows it says blocked program becuase this is old version can someone help me i need to install windows xp bad lol and when i restart my computer i never can get to the set up it skips it....

i have all of it and i have unlimate 32bit not 64 but when i insert the disk it wouldnt let me start the install and when i restart to try to load from that it skips it so idk plz help

i have vista ultimate on my new pc and it works like a charm

you could try formating and installing xp, but that will screw everything...
You need to start your computer and set it to boot from disk. Press f12 (depends on your manufacturer) as you start it and set your cd/dvd drive as your primary boot. HOWEVER, since you didn't know that in the first place, I suggest you also back up all of your information as well as download all the drivers you'll need for xp BEFORE you wipe vista out completely.
omg i did know that i have to start my computer and i dont back my files up i just reinstall them.....

When your computer is booting up, like as soon as you see it restarting, hit F12 until your computer starts beeping at you. If it's that theres something wrong with the disk, well, no one here can diagnose that. It's something that you'd have to diagnose yourself, or have someone that can be in front of your computer to diagnose it.
Save yourself the trouble and have a pro do it.
Either that, or learn about computers and learn how to do it that way.
Also, Shattered Skies, your guide does not garentee success, because computers are not all the same. I have come across tons of different methods to get to the "select boot device" on different systems. You explained one way. You need to be able to figure this stuff out on your own to get down this path.

Well dam guys im not stupid i know about computers i got it to work.....but jesus i install all my drives and i get BLUE SCREEN for some dam reason it says if u have reasonly just install drivers or w/e for ur computer plz reinstall or w/e i dont get it but i have to keep repairing windows xp just to stop the blue screen and if i install like my Sound or Video card drives i start getting it again and its making me dam mad
Vista doesn't require too much RAM.

Careful! My buddy just reformatted with XP on his Vista laptop, and he got burned horribly...

i dont know how to do the dual boot thingie, but get a small second hdd, disconnect the one with vista, install on the 2nd xp, then set on both so it would be a dual boot system, start the one with xp on it, reformat the one with vista, and install xp on that one

You can try this though, not sure if you can get to a boot selection screen or not, but... With your windows cd in the drive, get to the recovery console and do a check disk. (CHKDSK /r). Google how if you dont know how.
Heres a list of the most common causes:
Faulty harddrive
Faulty RAM
Faulty disk(causing file not correctly copied over)
bad/problematic driver
Burst Caps
Hate to say it but, I told you so...
I work in PC repair, and I see this shit happen every day. Sometimes people make it through, but most of the time they **** it up even more and then end up brining it to us to fix.

Oh, and that bluescreen is not a common one. It doesn't get good answers in google
If all goes well you will be able to upgrade to Windows 7 in 2010 XD
