I would recommend the jump to gb of ram. It really does help for the newer titles. But a new Mobo and CPU is as important if not moreso. Problem is if your ram will be compatible.
Heh, I see those are in euros. 1 euro = 1.5 CAD, so that's more than a bit over my budget. My motherboard is a pretty old one, Gigabyte P4 Titan series, or something like that. You can tell it's old because on the case it says "Supports Intel Pentium 4 Processor!"
Also I'm not sure about the frequency of my RAM, but I downloaded this prog called CPU-Z, and under the "DRAM Frequency" it says 200.6 Hz =/
Also my power supply is 350W so dunno if that's sufficient.
Wow, that falls well within my $500 budget. $475, leaving me with a few bucks (gonna have to go a bit over obviously) to get a sufficient power supply and I'm set! Mind linking me where you bought all of those?
Also a bit off-topic, I've heard the term "bottlenecking" used lots, but never could figure out what it means :-/
not sure if this will fit into your budget but it kind of close to the same stuff I got, but some of the stuff I got was on sale.....
also note when buy a motherboard I would either go cheap or expensive not in between.....this is because if you go cheap and buy one later you will want to get the a new processor when quad core are actually better to use which right now they aren't really worth it ( no matter what anyone says....) or you can buy a expensive motherboard which excepts quad cores and then later on you won;t have to buy another.......but if you bought a cheap motherboard your still not losing out on money....so either way you make out with about the same amount of money spent overall..
bottlenecking is for example.....when you have a high end graphics card and a lower end processor the card will not be able to run at it's full potential because of the crappy processor.....

note: you can also look for the same stuff elsewhere I just chose frys because I always shop there.........
Thanks a lot man, hopefully I'll be able to get this all in a month when I'll have enough money.
Heh, just talked with my mom, she said she'll lend me $500 to buy what I need :D So excited now.
EDIT: Eh, I noticed the sites you posted are more U.S. oriented. I couldn't find the info on FRYS for shipping to Canada, and the bfgstore website only ships to Puerto Rico and U.S. =/
My friend gave me a link to this canadian site, www.ncix.com. I'm sure FRYS should ship to canada, but for the gfx card and power supply, I'm not sure on which ones to get from that site, so if you could help me find those, I'd really appreciate it.
