Perfect World has by far the most customization I've seen, notably how diverse you can make your character.
is it free perfect world?
Second life customization is so detailed, most of them are thru scripts. If you are good, you can design your own sword/wings etc etc... But you must know the scripting.
Second life's for pedos, does it even consider to be an mmorpg?
most customization would have to be ultima online as far as ingame. pw realy only has alot customization on character creation.ultima online 6 gigs 2d of course it gotta have the most customisation.
I would have to say PW too.
ultima online by far not in character creation but everything else is by far more customisable. pw no were near. I play pw but it realy lacks.

i love mabinogis customization, cuz u can change eyes, AND eye colour, hair, and hair colour, and also, u can even change the colour of ur clothes which is pretty pwnage, oh yeah and there are no classes, its kinda like runescape where u can lvl up w/e u want
Dude, Mabis is pretty basic, except for the body type thing and stuff.
In terms of a 3D MMO, PW.
2D-Maplestory( you can wear ANYTHING from Jeans to like whatever. I keep a set of casual clothes in Maple. Its pretty funny, no one can tell I'm an assassin.
