The graphic card I am getting includes full support for directX10
What card? What are your current specs? What are you going to use this computer for mainly?
make sure you get it with sp1, disable user account control, learn how to set to run apps as admin and compatibility modus and youre ready to go
also disable the sidebar, saves alot of ram
I wouldn't say now. Not all games currently out support Vista.
You can get it if you want, just don't BUY it. That shit is expensive.
Don't listen to SnOwBunZz, you want SP2.
I thought it doesn't...
BTW, you can if you want. Not all games support vista though, but, they're pretty much windows 95 games if they don't. Vista can't run older games like maple story etc. Newer games = yes. Make sure you have enough RAM for vista, 2gb can run vista without problems.
But, if your card supports dx 10, you might as well. Then you can play games like crysis :D
I got Mech Warrior(95' game) to work, with the compatibility feature, i haven't found a game yet that hasn't work with vista. my biggest complain about vista is that when you dont have alot of space on your computer, it slows down drastically.
Stall with xp until the majority of games only run with vista.
short answer
no
Vista it's a horrible piece of shit right now, even with their SP fixes, I'll stay with Windows XP SP 3 thank you
I got Windows Vista Ultimate (64 Bit), and I can run almost everything fine, including games. If your gonna get Vista, make sure you always install your updates, it fixes some of your problems. XD
No one should use Vista, but oh well.
You should get it if your computer can handle the 'upgrade'.
Vista is alright, though there is still plenty of support for XP, so unless you already have a copy of Vista, I wouldn't really recommend buying it and making the switch. Vista has some annoying quirks, and if you are really used to XP, you might dislike Vista. It's your own decision to make in the end, but Kn7ght said, it might be better if you stay with XP until most games are Vista only. Sure, most game work fine in Vista with minimal tweaking, but Vista still has a fair amount of stuff that needs to be improved.
I have Windows Vista 64 Ultimate and it works just fine.
It's like people say that you need a good computer.
Since XP or Vista doesnt matter on my computer prehaps Vista is even better.
Still I'm a big windows fan since I hate linux and mac, but thats another story.
Everything works fine in my pc, and i have vista ultimate.
Plus i find it strange that my pc has only what, 40-50gb left of memory and it still runs fine.
The only problem it gives me is with some mmo's, avgs resident shield keeps turning off, but ill just close it and play.
If you need dx10, get it, but dont buy it.
There's a dx10 mod for xp. Although if you're going get vista you should definitely get 64 bit.
