it funny though how much people do role play like there real military in this game. and you do have to work together listen to yuor commander. thats kinda rpg but trying to argue rpg is to much bs.

Someone said Horror... that would be an interesting one but not sure how it could be implemented well. BUT I totally agree and hadn't even thought of it until someone said so.
My other choice is more games like Eve, the SciFi that involves ships and more something not just scifi theme but actually scifi completely.
Seems like you suffer from severe oligophrenia as I wasn't referring to you at all rather to girtrute which quite clearly don't understand the difference between FPS and MMORPG, please check your doctor and try to do something with the already very very few neurons you posses, you embarrass yourself right in an internet community and I hope you don't do the same in real life
my god.....you still don't understand the difference between those two online genres...just stop posting here already, thanksQuote:

Yup. It's all about the sound effects, the music, the mood of the game. I think that in order for a MMORPG to be really scary, it MUST have a First Person interface, seriously. I mean, not knowing what is lurking behind you? Hearing footsteps or dripping sounds on your back while exploring a dark hallway with just a flashlight? Now that's real horror. Heck, the monster's don't even need to be all mutated and with 104 eyes and tentacles to be actually creepy.
A F2P hide and seek MMO.
'Nuff Said.
You all know that would pwn.
Now, back to something serious.
I'd like to see more in the Sci-Fi genre.
Tabula Rasa was Aight, Anarchy online isn't worth it unless you buy the expansions, although, I played that for quite sometime.
What would really make my day, a dystopian future cyberpunk MMO.
They need MMOFPS. Something like Warrock but EVERY player is in 1 gigantic map. There are two factions; the dark side and the light side. There will be jets, helicopter, boats. submarine, tanks, motorcycle, futuristic weapons that shoots lasers, rockets, grenade launchers, snipers, hand grenades, mines, etc... Monsters will roam the world. (No, there is no specific spawn point for the monsters. They just walk around wherever they want.) You get exp by killing mobs or players of the other faction. Each level up gives you a skill point in which you can invest. Four category of skills include Flight (jets, helicopter, spaceships, etc...), Vehicle (tanks, motercycle, etc...), Water (submarine, boats, battleship, air carrier, etc...), and Foot (weapons and armor upgrades)
To sum it up. Just think of Warrock but every player is one gigantic battlefield. Better yet, just think of modern war in real life but with monsters roaming the world.
i'd like to see a F2P neocron personally.
hell i'm tempted to buy Neocron 2 when i get a job.
scifi/ancient/fantasy/ancient fantasy
so no to planes/robots or any chinese/hindu/european/african/jp/korean settings
yes to magic/mystical monsters/heavy armor/ with a hint of realism.
what they need to do is make a horror fps mmo......not like tabula rasa or faces of mankind but something where you play in fp perspective but you can change it to 3rd person and the game takes place in several countries in the world.....so you go around town meeting people(actual players and npcs) get certain quests, then you and the people that are exploring together go do the quest....the quest will be instanced so that way they can focus on better questing......now during a quest the gameplay will be similar to re4 or condemned 2 just with other people...and the areas would be huge so that way they would require you to split into groups to explore the area then youd be able to use a headset on the pc to talk through an in game walkie talkie.......man that would be full of win
Agree on Survival/Horror as well. I kind of want a MMO where you just shoot zombies for the sake of human survival or something... (and it has to be WAY better than DarkEden -_-, just make it FPS) whatever. lol. Just shoot or cut crazy scary stuff similar to in Resident Evil with any weapons we possibly can think of.
Hmm.. genre using American Revolution period isn't really that exploited either. The closest game I can think of is Sword of the New World. Somehow they never make games where you get rifles/pistols that need to get reloaded after every shot or something =p. That combined with fantasy game should be pretty nice.
Hmmm.. genre using Jurassic Age or whatever? We don't really have a game that has a dinosaur theme somehow; not even Jurassic Park Online. I thought dinosaurs are pretty popular? lmao The closest I can think of is Stone Age 2?
I always wanted a sci-fig game where you can be a as small as a fighter pilot to as big as a carrier or battleship commander; and the game should play somewhat like a combination of MMOFPS + MMORTS. Perhaps something like X3: Reunion series but instead make it MMO? Not to mention, there are not enough MMO that you can travel outer-space freely (if at all), to be honest =/.
Oh, also modern age genre. Not the FPS modern combat theme, but gang fight theme where you just be a normal gang member, or own lands, build stuff, recruit thugs, fight the other gangs, etc. There was one really old game called Nage or something that has that kind of theme, but I think that was it. Looking for something similar to GTA but MMO version. Hmm.. is GTA 4 MMO or what?
So yeah. I probably don't have the best ideas around (if not the worst anyway); just kind of pointing out what kind of game themes I feel are lacking in the MMO market.
I guess it would be really hard to create a horror/survival MMORPG, since the normal survival/horror game example "Doom,Fear etc" is kinda successful since you are alone which makes it more scary. How would you like to play a horror game with 500people with flashlight walking thru a creepy tunnel feels, den you alone walking thru it with the same conditions. Anyway thats my opinion. :)
Multiplayer horror would not work, Zombie mmos will because no one is scared of them anymore they are a staple of FPS and MMOs now.
Take system shock 2, its creepy when your alone, but with a friend its not creepy at all.
That was just an example...tho >_>.
You know the idea of a horror working would be nice. I mean think of it this way, yoiu all have flash lights, but so do some of the monsters. Sometimes it will be a monster that will come close to killing you because it slashes your neck sometimes it will just be another human scared and attacks you wildly that scares you. So I guess they could add a good amount of horror into a game. Problem is for it to be good it would have to be rated M and then it wouldn't get as much buyers.
What I would like is:
A dark themed car battle mmo with huge maps and lots of players at a single map. That means a really big map. No laser/futuristic stuff, no nitros too, just cars made for mayhem and destruction.
I think we need more action MMO's. Maybe with gameplay similar to Castlevania or something.
I'm not too big on Survival Horror games (I get scared extremely easily). I watched a Fatal Frame video like, a month ago and I'm still scared shitless now.
I just thought probably worst possible genre for mmorpgs. Underwater sea mmorpg. You fight the enemies with watertrident and the enemies would be sharks, fishs, clamps, everything underwater. Tho the cool feature would be this could be totally something like space-fighter mmo just underwater, you can move every direction, not just back, forward, left and right. But seriously something like space fighting mmo would be cool. Where one needs tactics, and like strategy to drive enemies to mine-fields etc. The range of the weapons just would needed to be somewhat gapped. Like not that you see one enemy 4 lightyears away and you could just blast it off.
Also not so much of genre, but idea what i would once like to see in mmo. In ancient game like chrono trigger there were combo skills, where you needed like 2 to 3 guys perform a single powerful attack. This could be made use somewhat like usage of weapons. Like you could dual wield a fire staff and ice staff then make spells that use both of the elements. Or maybe you could like cast fire-spell on party member and next skill is going to use the fire spells power that was casted upon. For example you cast fire buff on monk, monk casts next shield on all players ---> it becomes fire-shield.
