Video Card trouble
My Brother is Rigging up another PC specifically to play WoW,and other games on the side.
Everything is down packed but the Video Card, I recommended he get a 8600gt since he isnt going to be playing any hard core games, and it gives him the choice to play games on the side.
because of his budget he has a choice between a 512mb GDDR2 8600gt, or a 256mb of gddr3.
the 512mb is clocked at 540/800
and the 256 is clocked at 540/1400.

so, what's the trouble? which one to choose?
-
Yeah, the 256MB is all you really need.
I actually have the same card, and I can run AoC at an average of 30 FPS, so he'd be set >_>

if his motherboard doesn't have support for DDR3 then I don't know what's the trouble in picking the 256 or what's the meaning of it being superior at all, I could be missing something perhaps
the 512 it's far superior even if the DDR3 it's a little more clocked than his DDR2 counterpart
IMHO, go with the DDR2, it's that simple
