Apple are going to update their iPod Touch range shortly, the 8gig model has been discontinued for some time now.
You could either wait until they refresh the model, or buy an iPhone 3G that comes out on 11th July. You won't feel very nice if you buy an iPod Touch tomorrow, and introduce a new model on Wednesday.
Don't bother jailbreaking it, it's not all it's cracked up to be. The App Store arrives on 11th July aswell, so wait until then.
Also. Do NOT buy an iPod Touch before the 11th, otherwise you will have to pay to get the latest 2.0 firmware.
