If you just go to one of the merc recruiters and click the little details button under the description you can look through all the mercs there. Of course, that only helps if you can get into the game...

My main is a Spearmen..But I chose Shaman because they do damage and heal and once you upgrade them one time (lvl 20 x50 Ashen Crystals) They're Heal is AOE on three members in a vertical line. Perfect for 3 tank/3 range formation. Love it.
