Maple Story cleric questions

Hello all. I recently started playing Maple Story after a long and arduous journey through what I'd estimate being close to 100 different MMOs. It's not the first time I've played, but now I'm playing with some friends, so it's actually fun. Anyway, enough rambling.

My question was, what should I be spending my skill points in? I got magic guard, one point in magic bolt, improved MP etc. (asking in regards to a cleric)

And also I know how my beginner SP points are seperate from magician, is that the case for all job changes?

whatever you do...DO NOT GET MAGIC ARMOUR. It's a craptastic skill and is almost completely useless later on. I laugh at the mages who use magic armour. Spend your points to max Magic Guard.

Just worry about Magic Claw, Magic Guard, Improving MP Recovery, and Improving Max MP increase.

I'm trying to be a Cleric, not a mage, do I still want Magic Claw? I mean I understand I need some kind of attack, so it'd make sense. Also I already spent 2 points in magic armor, does that mean my characters doomed and needs to be rerolled? And also is there anyway to reset SP?

Yeah, you'll still want Magic Claw. You have to get it anyway unless you want to max something crappy like Magic Armor instead.

The 2 points in Magic Armor won't hurt you at all. Just make sure you max Magic Claw, Magic Guard, Improving MP Recovery, and Improving Max MP increase like Cereal&Milk said.

I believe there is a way through Cash Shop means. Spending 2 points isn't so bad, though. Just figure out which skill you're going to handicap in light of that spending those 2 points. At any rate, Yes, Magic Claw is important. It will carry you to 30 since it's your strongest attack skill.

if you have a decent amount of funds I'd suggest you max improving max mp first but it's not nessescary. you def want to max magic claw because compared to energy bolt it has a more stable damage range. It also is a direct attack and unlike energy bolt it cannot be obstructed by obstacles, ramps, ledges, etc. for the love of god please max magic guard. I actually tried not maxing that skill in on a level 57 fire mage and I regretted to the point where I deleted my character.
