Change is always good, and oversized shoulder guards and weapons are just better. Fans always ***** and whine, and it doesn't change anything. Like grenades and tf2, it turned out to be a better game.

You want it darker? Adjust the lighting on your monitor. Or, for that matter, just change the lighting in options to make it darker.
Zoosh! Problem solved! Now you can't see a damn thing, and all of the art-direction is completely wasted!

if you think about it the 30000 petitioners are most likely consisted of those hardcore Diablo fans who have played through the first 2 over and over and probably still play now.

I do partially hope this game fails big time, I will be playing it, but I completely disagree with the idea that since they created WoW they will automaticly incorperate some of it's style. The fact is they have a huge fan base in that most of which never played DII and by making DIII closer to WoW style they hope to sell a huge amount to Blizzard fans already.

it's not just about the style, it's the fact we haven't seen enough of the whole D3 universe yet, just a handfull of screens, videos and one tiny weenie dungeon, it's not "oh, it's alpha, they can change it anyday", it's the fact that well....there isn't much info to be based on right now
and heck, I doubt they want to implement WoW related to it, the gameplay it's still the same one we all loved, the changes in the keyset configuration it's a welcomed one, at least for me, same as female classes, the art style doesn't botter me at all, not because I'm a wow fanboy (which I'm not), but because there's still much to see of the whole spectrum of said game
I'm no denying the photoshopped pictures look great, but for once I'm tired of always looking at the "dark gory omgfmature" side of the game rather than a good plotline and a KICK ASS gameplay, heck I almost came with the witch doctor style
believe me I would be the first one to throw stones at blizzard if the gameplay, lore and anything else mildly relates to World of warcraft3/WoW (which were the best implementations of the whole "cartoony look")
